Help - attacking away from the enmey

Help - attacking away from the enmey

I am playing Lucas, often when I move in attack, the attack is away from the enemy(ies) I want to attack. When this occurs I can rotate the screen so the enemy is below the screen, but this isn't the fix I'm after

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, or if its a bug or ??

Any thoughts welcome
