EA killed my inner child!

Post by Darth Gavinius »

Had to do a clean install after my HD failed. Decided that I would give the Mass Effect games another playthrough before I decide if I can stomach Origin enough to get Mass Effect 3.

So I installed Mass Effect (from Disc) and the patches then went to install the DLC. I never bothered to note down the serial number for BDtS because like most of my Bioware CD keys it was saved on my Bioware account. It appears when they went social... all those CD keys are no longer available. Still waiting to find out if I they are willing to tell me my key or give me a new one.

My second problem is now with Pinnacle Station... I have the serial number but not the exe file. It looks like I can't download the exe file without EA download manager which has evolved into Origin!

I am reluctant to get origin because EA use monstrous regional settings... they seem to exist in a world where no-one moves around and your language preferences in the EA accounts page are largely ignored.

They sure don't like to make things easy!

Well thankfully they have got back to me on the BDtS DLC... and it is sorted. My faith is restored... maybe just not quite enough to deal with Origin in French or Dutch.

I have Origin, and I don't see any problems. I installed my ME DLC from there. (I seem to recall, it's got seperate entries at least in Origin.) You can enable it to run in English.

Yeah, I installed Origin anyway. At the moment it is only the store I have to deal with in French/Dutch, I can't seem to find how to change the language there. Part of my problem it seems is that when I originally purchased Pinnacle Station from EA store in French I used an alternative email address... so I now have two registered Origin accounts. It may be fairer to say that EA might have exposed my inner childishness :D .

I will give a word of advice if you get a helpful response from EA... send them a reply thanking them. I rather unexpectedly got a code for 15% off anything bought through Origin redeemable for 30 days.

Top righthand corner, there's a gear-icon. Click on it, select "Settings." First tab should allow you to adjust language.
