The Alchemy Recipe Thread (ingredient spoilers, obviously)

Post by dragon wench »

While I overall like Skyrim, I find that game balance is less than ideal. It is ridiculously easy to level up Smithing and Enchanting because the item you are creating has no bearing on the amount you level. This means I'm very careful to not go overboard with these crafts, since I don't want to make the game easier than it becomes already. On the other hand... raising Alchemy is a pain in the posterior because the quality of your potion does impact the amount you level. Added to this, the right combination of ingredients are not always straightforward to find, and alchemists often keep a fairly sparse stock of ingredients.

OK... rant over... :D
The point of this thread is to list good alchemy recipes you have discovered. By good, I mean, those that yield multiple effects and/or those that create a nice concoction of entirely beneficial/entirely poisonous effects.

The best I have discovered was by accident... I was looking to make something that provided three effects, and the following gave me five! :D

*Scaly Pholiata
*Creep Cluster
*Mora Tapinella

Yields a potion that has the following effects:
*Increase Carrying Capacity
*Stamina Regeneration
*Fortify Illusion
*Restore Magicka
*Weakness to Magicka

What's nice with this one is that: the ingredients are relatively easy to come by, it sells for a significant profit, and it only requires three ingredients (so you can make it even without the optional ingredient perk)

I probably have more combinations I can list, but I'll just post this for now.

Please add any others :)

EDIT - a few more

Weakness to Shock, Damage Magicka, Weakness to Poison

*Hargraven Feathers
*Chaurus Eggs
*Giant Lichen

Regenerate Health, Regenerate Magicka

*Garlic
*Nordic Barnacles
*Jazboy Grapes

Damage Magicka Regeneration, Drain Magicka

*Glow Dust
*Bear Claws
*Chaurus Eggs

Fortify One-Handed, Fortify Marksman
*Canis Root
*Juniper Berries
*Bear Claws

Restore Health, Fortify Health
*Blue Mountain Flower
*Wheat

Restore Magica, Fortify Magica
*Red Mountain Flower
*Jazbay Grapes
*White Cap
this one has a negative effect, damage magica so it is better with the Purity perk

OK, I just found the best, most definitive Skyrim Alchemy page I've yet seen. Great resource, so I'm going to post it here:
