Morrowind Animations

Post by GawainBS »

Are there mods which replace the woody walk & run animation of the maincharacter? I haven't found any that work.

Thanks in advance!

Replacing animation, with better versions, would require motion capture. - real people posing and their data being scanned into the game. This is outside the scope of mods.

I haven't tried any, but I know there are a few to be found at the elder scrolls nexus. Planet elder scrolls might have some too. You might not want to wait too long if looking there as they may have to stop taking new files starting in May and it is uncertain how much longer after that the site will be maintained. There aren't plans to take it down as far as I know, but if people can't submit new files then it could see a decrease in traffic and give IGN a reason to close the site later in the year. Here is one that I might be looking into soonish as well. I'm not familiar with it, but it might be what you are looking for. The link for the prerequisite mod in the description is expired, but you can get a copy here it seems.

You could try Morroblivion. You need to have a copy of both Morrowind and Oblivion in order for their program to verify you actually have both games. They are supposedly up to the point where they have the quests done for the main game and the expansions, but are still in the testing phase for the expansions. I recently installed it to check things out for myself. It caught for a second here or there a handful of times over the couple of hours I have played with it so far, but other than that the start area is much the same aside from dialogue. They stripped it down quite a bit so the amount of dialogue options falls somewhere between Morrowind and Oblivion. On the bright side I haven't had to remove any of the Oblivion mods I already had installed although I did run a new bash patch just in case.

Thanks. I have found some animation replacers, but they seem rather hassle-some to get installed properly.
