Rogue/Wizard MC problem :X

Post by Omni »

I've recently rediscovered IWD 2 after having it on my shelf for ~10years...apparently I'm having more trouble re-orienting myself to the concepts than I thought I would.

After doing a lot of research, I decided to follow what seemed like wise advice and chose a Drow Rogue/Wizard as the 6th character to fill out my party. I chose rogue as the "beginning class" and then multiclassed to wizard after 1 rogue level. I've bought and learned spells on the character, and selected which spells (and rested afterwards) I wanted under the Drow's spellbook.

However, I cannot figure out how to access his spells during gameplay. On the skillbar, all that is available to me is the "attack", "rogue skills", "wilderness lore" "search" and special ability icons. Nowhere can I find the crescent moon w/ stars icon that allows you to cast spells. Apart from a few empty backpack icons and the ones I listed above, the "crescent-moon" just does not seem to be there.

I know this may seem like a typical "noob-style" question for most of you, however I feel I've exhausted my ability to blindly search for the answer to my problem, and was hoping I could tap into the wealth of knowledge here at GameBanshee for some help.

Did i goof-up by selecting rogue as my "beginning class" instead of wizard? B/c I feel like that's the problem, though I've read "Note, if you have a multi-class combo that includes the Rogue always be sure to take the Rogue class first, since he has the most skill points at the beginning" in nearly every guide or post in which I've searched for a solution.

I apologize for the overly-long post, and hope to have some frustration cleared up...

Thanks :D

Yes, this is indeed a very common noob problem and one it took me a while to figure out first time out with a duelled character.

If you right click on one of the greyed out boxes in the quickbar then you will jump to another quickbar which has the moon and stars icon. By selecting this icon it will then move to your main quickbar permanently into the greyed out slot you right clicked on. :)

Wow, that easy. I would say that I feel foolish, however, it wouldn't be the first time.

Thanks for taking the time to answer my question.
