Hi, I'm on my very first playthrough of SoA and I have a slight problem....Cernd is GONE!! I have scoured different forums looking for an answer thinking he may be playing hide n seek with me. Everyone says he is in the Druid Grove. I cannot find him. I have looked and looked and looked but to no avail. I recruited him in Trademeet and did everything to become the Hero of Trademeet. I then went to do his personal quest and when I killed the bad guy, Cernd left the party. I went back to the grove looking for him but he is not there. I did have one unexplored area in the Grove (the spot where the mushrooms are) and that is around where he is supposed to be. I cleared it out but he was not there. I left the area and came back...still nothing. Am I doing something wrong? Am I looking in the wrong places for him? I don't really like him and wouldn't be that interested that he vanished but he was loaded up with some of my better equipment when he left and I want it back (punk @$$ thief lol).
Any help would be greatly appreciated. [I am OCD when I play and I cannot progress farther in the game until I resolve this!]
Cernd Bug?
Using an old save I had, I quickly cheated my way to where I am now. I grabbed Cernd, slaughtered all the Grove creatures, smacked down the woman and dismissed Cernd to see where he was supposed to show up. I found the exact spot where he spawns but when going there in my other game....he is not there! Did doing his quest after fixing Trademeet cause the game to screw up? Has anyone else had that happen to them?
Since I played with Cernd a total of 1 (one) times, I'm not really qualified here. But, if you dumped him after the whole child rigmarole and Trademeet was already done, maybe he's inside the druid's cavern? Where you fight the shadow druidess?
I really hate that guy, and druids are usually very much my thing. But each time I see him I feel like feeding his sanctimonious, sexist remains to otyaughs and slime in the sewers. Did that, actually, on that one playthrough.

lol I know what you mean....I don't care for him much myself but he has some of my nicer items on him so I wanted to find him. I actually did not dump him voluntarily. He leaves on his own at the end of his quest and he "says" he's going back to the Druid Grove but he never showed up. I'm thinking more and more that it was a bug. I wound up using an old save (that set me back 3 hours worth of play) and keeping Valygar instead of using Cernd. He was much better!
Thanks for trying to help though

I wish I could really, y'know, help.
He leaves to "take care of the child" which ony further demonstrates how worthless his word is : first he abandons the wife and kid to serve nature, then he lets you serve nature instead, then agrees to travel with you, then goes away. Dependable party member with 18 WIS... yeah.
The Shadow Keeper savegame editor can help in recovering strangely lost stuff- you just cheat it back in. And Valygar is one of my favourite npc's, for many reasons, one of them being that in my version he has no "hit" sound in the soundset, so he's not spamming my ears with grunts when I'm trying to lead the battle.
