Accidental Hostility

Post by Kal_Torak »

I just finished the Sahuagin City quests by siding with Prince Whats-his-face. I went to clear out my inventory and non important gems by selling them to the NPC near the temple since they (gems) are worth more in this town. However, the saleslady does not like what I did and is now hostile. Needless to say, I cannot make transactions with her since she wants to gut my innards and such. Is there any way to get her to take a Valium or something to make her friendly to me again? My last save is at the start of Spellhold and I really don't want to backtrack all that way.

This always happens to me as well and I have never found a solution. I think sometimes the high priestess spontaneously dies as well after Villynaty congratulates me. Either the priestess was loyal to the king and Villynaty has an unseen murderous streak, or it's just buggy. If you do not have a save from before you completed the quest you are out of luck AFAIK :( .

Money is not in short supply in this game, and there will be more merchants in the Underdark.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Not sure how to fix it either, but as Blomdor said there will be merchants in the Underdark. In fact there are some dwarf merchants that you can find almost right in the beginning of the Underdark level, just sell to them.

That's what I was afraid of. I really did like the fact that the priestess is willing to give you more gold for gems but I guess I will just wait until chapter 6 so I can resume making Jan steal back his recently fenced goods so he can resell them lol.

You won't have to wait that long, Ust'Natha's merchants are a pick-pockets dream.

And one of them sells potions of thievery too. Feels almost like cheating.

Happens in my game every time. I've always assumed it's a bug, but it fits nicely with the overall unhinged psyche of the shark-people, so I usually slaughter them all. I'm without my soul at this point and liable to do mass-murder regardless of alignment, after all :D

The "temple" - one guy in the map corner - of the Sahuagin pays good sums for stuff so I often sell them those not-bad-but-not-used items. Never had that much trouble with money to actually steal/resell.
Kitchen Witchcraft : Of Magic and Macaroni - a blog about, well, a witch in the kitchen.

Me neither, but if I have a dip (pick pocket) with me I'm darned if I'm going to pay the Drow for those good items they have!

I don't think it's a bug by the way, IIRC if you back the 'right' faction she doesn't turn hostile. When I've sided with the prince she's turned hostile, but when I've pretended to side with the king she hasn't. Then I kill them all anyway!:mischief:
