Ralen Hlaalo murder justice (spoiler)

Post by Claudius »

spoiler

I identied the mohawk murderer guy from the house servants description. I drank a potion of bug musk and taunted him until he attacked me. It took maybe 30 seconds before he got one hit :) but after letting him deal about 20 damage to me I killed him. This got me a bounty which I thought it didn't work that way in morrowind? Does MGSO (Morrowind Graphics and Sound Overhaul) change that?

I was able to kill the entire club, but with 2500 lost in bounty it's not a satisfying transaction as it is more than the reward and more than I carry.

Oh, my question is why I got a murder bounty when he attacked me first?

Well.. all I can think of is that it might have been a quest-induced bounty. Murder is still murder. For instance, if you just do as your told and do all the Fighter's Guild quests, you end up doing some pretty gruesome things. It takes a little questioning to find out some of the stewards might be corrupt.

I seem to recall there were multiple solutions to that quest. Well, maybe two. It's been a long time.

You can kill nine-toes is the other solution. Or both. The question I have is that it's supposed to be a mechanic that if you taunt someone and they attack first that you should not get a bounty.

Thanks, though.

I really don't think you're supposed to get a bounty for taunting. AFAIK, not even for that quest.

Did you use any AoE spells to kill him? If you did, it might be that you hit someone else by accident and you got a bounty for that.
