I'm playing Divinity II and quite enjoying it.
However...
Two things are forcing me to quit the game:
1) My character cannot walk uphill. as soon as the terrain goes upwards my character just starts walking side to side as if stuck next to a brick wall. I can only advance by jumping forward. This gets really boring really quick, especially in battle.
2) During a Tactical Pause I can not move the camera around. Why is it called a Tactical Pause if I cannot target anything out of my freeze-frame screenshot?
These two issues combine into a ball of hell when I run into an area to see what bad guys are there then retreat back whence I came as I cannot turn around in the pause screen and I cannot fully assess the area and when I retreat I just run from side to side while flaying one of my fingers round the jump button.
Can these issues be solved by in-game options tweaks or are they known bugs which require mod packs or have I just got a bum copy/computer?
Divinity II can't walk or move while pausing

Several people have reported issues like your first problem; see below for a few suggestions and things that have fixed this for others.
Can't run up any sort of incline, just walk
With the Xbox version you can move the camera while paused; I'm not sure about the PC version. I tried the PC demo of D2:ED when it was released, but didn't get far enough to try pausing (performance wasn't very good on my below minimum spec computer; better than I expected, but not quite playable).
