Is Dualwielding now exclusive to Rogues?

Is my favourite combo of Adept/Mage // Enchantress/Paladin // Warwitch still possible?

A couple more changes in the game:

All four base classes get access to magic (fighters get rune magic, rogues get nether magic), and you automatically receive spells when you gain levels.

There aren't any more advancement points. You improve skills by using them (at least for weapons), and you also receive 3 skill points and 3 attribute points each time you gain a level. I can't tell if learning bonuses are relevant any more or not. Classes seem to be more about the new skills they offer you now.

You can't use equipment you don't have the skill for, so only rogues can use bows at the start of the game. Fighters get thrown weapons, but I haven't seen one yet. So all the cheesy ranged attack strategies for early in the game are out the window now, at least for most classes.

I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing yes.

I'm pretty sure paladin is only available if you're a fighter-adept in tier 1. But the rest should still work.

Damn, the more I hear, the more they turned it in a pile of crap. The freeform class-system was the game's greatest attraction. What a disappointment.

So, with only Rogues being able to use bows, only they can "exploit" the two early trolls for huge XP gains? Yep, that's balanced class design right there...
BTW, I take it from the screenshots that Imperial & Samurai armour are still the two go-to armours for the major first part of the game?
Are the magics exclusive to the respective classes? Does the Warwitch still end up with all magics? Which comboes are possible to reach it now? Adept/Mage//Enchantress/Battlemage//Warwitch then?

The screen shots are a cheat character to confirm that anything is possible in the game; any class, any character, any weapons, spells, armor, etc. With hex editing, ANYTHING is possible in this game.

To be blunt, hex editing doesn't really intrest me.

It interests me! I want to become a paladin, but the morons decided an adept/mage couldn't do that! If anyone could show me how to hex edit my char into being able to become a paladin I'd be very thankfull because god forbid they use the same save format, it seems that they focused more on making the game LESS fun than improving it. Alternatively I could just send you my save.

I killed both trolls with a melee fighter (I still haven't found any throwing weapons). I can't remember if health used to regenerate or not before, but it regenerates pretty fast now, so that leads to new exploits.

Adepts get crystal and rune magic. Mages get arcane and nether magic. So your build would get everything.

File was actually small enough zipped up that I figured posting it here wouldn't be a big deal. If need be I can still e-mail it to you. And thank you so much, it was very frustrating going through my saves only to find out I'd deleted the ones before I'd picked mage as my second primary.

Is this available for download somewhere? The 'green something or other' was mentioned but it was said that their version would not install. I am in USA.
Right Speech has four aspects: 1. Not lying, but speaking the truth, 2. Avoiding rude and coarse words, but using gentle speech beneficial to the listener, 3. Not slandering, but promoting friendliness and unity, 4. Avoiding frivolous speech, but saying only what is appropriate and beneficial.

I'd be interested to know what all the Tier II and Tier III classes are now, along with their requirements. What are they, what Tier I classes are required, are there characteristic and skill requirements also?

How to the skills work now? Is there a limit to how high the skill can go (without hex editing), what does an additional point in a skill do (such as swords or nether magic)?

Thanks to those who already have the game!

The version from Green Man Gaming was corrupt -- I ended up getting a refund, and then got a copy directly from Nordic Games -- but they're still selling it on their site, so it seems plausible that they've fixed the problem by now.

Unfortunately, there is zero useful documentation in the manual or in the game. For example, none of the spells have any sort of description, the tooltip for the new charge skill is "charge," and the class information was cut-and-pasted directly from the original manual, even though none it seems to be relevant any longer. Some of these things I hope to work out as I play my way through the game, but some might just remain a mystery.

My guess currently is that a point in a skill now does exactly what it did before. I can verify that enough points in a weapon skill allows you to perform a combo.

Thanks for the offer, but I'll skip edited savefiles for my first playthrough. Now that Learning Bonuses are out, Battlemage is a viable alternative. Well, at least I hope you don't have to be a Fighter/Mage for that.

I surmised it from SWC's comment. I might totally be wrong, though. My point was: I used Paladin in my build to be able to get Hvy Wpns without spending tons & tons of XP on the skill required for Warwitch.

I think it's just a new system. In my eyes 'newness' is a good thing. If I want to play the same game again I already have it loaded on my computer.

If they just mucked about the system without keeping endgoals in mind, newness amounts to nothing.
