List of known (old + restored) easter eggs? [spoilers]

Post by Tricky »

I saw in the latest unofficial patch notes an easter egg involving werewolves was restored. It made me curious about other easter eggs, because I realized I didn't really know that much about them at all. Can we make a list of them, right here? Obviously the content that Wesp has restored counts as well, though I don't really know how much that is either.

I found some interesting things on youtube as well, but I hesitate to add them as I can't tell for sure if they're just modded content (a Malkavian talking to a STOP sign, for instance).

Just to be clear, there are plenty of pop culture references in this game. Some of them border on being obtuse, but that doesn't make them hidden. I don't really view those as proper easter eggs.

The ones I know:
- A low-humanity game. There is tons of content here that you don't normally see. I suppose one can argue whether or not this is hidden enough to be an easter egg, but I found that the game generally doesn't encourage to players to ditch their humanity. I didn't realize it very late at least. Examples? Meeting Pisha and finding some common ground, dealing with various npc's and draining them mid-conversation because they are annoying you.
- Malkavian insane, random banters. I'm not sure if talking to a stop sign in downtown LA is real, but I remember something involving the TV and weird radio messages. Some of them are easily missed, so I think those qualify.

Anyone know of anything else? In particular, when it comes to Wesp's patches I am in the dark. I haven't played the game in a few years and I've missed a lot of patched content.

The Malkavian talking to the stop sign is real as well as the Malkavian talking to the newsreporter on TV. There are no special radio messages, but if you listen closely you will notice that one caller on the radio essentially describes vampires stalking the night and that the Sabbat leader calls in too!
In particular, when it comes to Wesp's patches I am in the dark.
I don't think I have changed much regarding easter eggs in the patch. I made finding the Luckee Star werewolf easter egg easier and I restored a similar easter egg at the end, but that's about it, as far as I can remember...

Ah, I see. Thanks for clearing that up. :)

I've been trying to remember anything else from the game, but I got nothing. Loads of references and a pack of bubble gum that seemed to be in a different place with every patch.

I'm curious about the werewolf easter egg though. Can't play right now, it will have to wait.

Hello there! Sorry for hijacking this not-so-old thread.

I’m not a hardcore gamer, in the sense that I don’t replay games much, though I try to discover everything I can without destroying my experience, and I would love to know all of the easter eggs you people know.

I played VtMB with Wesp5 patch almost a year ago (maybe even more), three times, once with a Ventrue, with a Toreador and later with a Tremere. I just started playing again with a Malkavian, and in Santa Monica I noticed a character who obfuscates? himself. This happened close to the Pawn Shop, in a small alley next to it. When I tried to approach this figure, it disappears in smoke.

What is this? Was it there before or is it restored content? I usually check every place in every game I play (so I don’t have to replay everything [I just don’t like to spend too much time doing the same things over so little new content]), and right now I don’t remember that. I tried with a quick Brujah build to test, and it also appears.

I’m curious as if anyone knows what it is, and how to continue this easter egg, because I don’t think that’ll be the only time it will appear.

Thanks in advance!

PS: This is with patch 8.3.

This is restored content of the Unofficial Patch. I noticed this sequence was unused and just had to move it to a position where it could be triggered correctly :) !

Yay! Thanks for answering!

Another question: is this sequence a long chain of events (with possibly plot related rewards), or just for fun?

Thanks!

No, with sequence I just meant the disappearing Sabbat. I figured Troika intended to give a hint that you are being observed, but then someone forgot about it in the final game.
