Widescreen resolution mod

Post by GawainBS »

On which resolution do you girls & boys run this? My native resolution is 1600*900, but that makes the game appear in a VERY tiny box. Selecting 1024*768 makes part of the GUI dissappear on the left hand side.

Thanks in advance!

Couldn't apprehend this  . It's running here in 1600x900 too and everything seems to look ok  .

Have you applied the widescreen mod http://www.gibberlings3.net/widescreen/ ?

Some maps are rather small indeed and can't fill the whole screen. Is it not the case?

For the preferred procedure of installing BG2 mods and patches one can look at http://www.gog.com/en/forum/baldurs_gat ... _gog/page1

That worked for me.

Hmm, something similar seems to happen to me when I try to run it in 1280 x 960 - looks like it's running in 640 x 480, the ingame area appears correctly, but the frames become huge, pixelated and ugly...the mouse pointer also leaves a, uhm.. a trail. :D It runs fine for me in 1024 x 768, however. Well, there are black areas at the horizontal edge of the screen, but I honestly haven't noticed that until now. The game looks and runs fine in that resolution, otherwise. My screen size is 1680 x 1050 (widescreen). Should have a look at that mod. :) Hope it works out Gawain.

The problem is that the GUI on the lefthandside is partially "hidden" behind the "black bands".

Well it's obviously a graphical bug of some sort, but 'twould seem I'm in the same boat, so I cannot rightly say what is causing it, and how to fix. How does the game run for you in 800 x 600 and 640 x 480? Those are the supported resolutions, after all. Sadly, I don't think BG2 was even designed with widescreen in mind considering how old it is. I can only hope someone more technically-minded than I can help you with this.

It might have been caused by the wrong order of the mods installed. The widescreen mod should have been the last one.

The same or similar had been here too until I completely reinstalled the game in the proper order.
Anyway, good luck.

I'm just running it without Widescreen now, in 800*600.

im playing in 1000x600, a compromise between size and visibility. Never seen any interface problems.

I tried 1280*720, and it's a nice compromise. Everything is clear, without being tiny. So problem solved.
