Knights of Solemnia--Sending them back via Paladins

Post by Dilidor »

Everyone says that a mage can send the Knights of Solemnia back after taking over the Planar Sphere by two ways: 1) pay Ribald big bucks at Adventurer Mart; 2) talk with the prelate at the paladin HQ. But I've never been able to initiate any conversation with the prelate in this regard. One problem might be that I always do the sphere after getting Imoen back and going through the Undercrack, so the only conversation I can have with the prelate concerns getting help in fighting Bodhi.

Has anyone ever successfully gotten the knights to send them back, thus saving 9k gold on a belt that's only worth about 300? And if so, how is it done??

It's all Ribald and only Ribald who can send them back and get you the belt. The Paladins of the Order only accept them to live with them and not send them back to Krynn.

Besides, paying Ribald gives you the best xp-reward as well for the money, and by the time you get to that part money shouldn't be a problem.

Well, true most of the time. This time through I've been spending money wantonly, and actually have only about 9k gold on hand--so Ribald will force me to go out and work for a living. But mostly I'm just wanting to try different things, and I've never been able to initiate a conversation regarding the Knights with the Prelate at the Paladin HQ.

So my question still stands: does anyone know how to initiate this convo with the Prelate?

You can ask Teos when you see him what to do, that opens the conversations for Ribald and the Prelate. Otherwise you'll never get rid of the Knights of Solamnia :)

Yes, I've done that, but the Prelate only tells me that he'll send men when I fight Bodhi. There is no option for dialog, just his statement without any possible responses. So I guess the answer is that the Sphere needs to be done before going after Imoen, if you want to use the Paladin route.

Well, then it's either a bug or working as intended. If you talked to Teos and he said ask Ribald and the Knights of the Order...then that's it.

That should advance the subquest but if the prelate can't talk to you then....

Way around it is to alter some variable under shadowkeeper so you can talk to the Prelate and then change it backa fterward. Don't know which variable though.

Perhaps killing Bodhi will change (fix) his dialogue as well, do try that.
