I have decided to play through Baldur's Gate again. Probably won't do BG1 as i find it too linear but will play through ToB. I have played through this game many times but find myself using the same characters a lot. So this time I am going to force myself to play through with characters that I have rarely if ever used. So, any suggestions on which of this bunch would be a good mix?
Any banter between characters is a big plus. I'm not particularly bothered about party balance as it might add to the challenge. Also, haven't picked a character class yet, suggestions welcome, have recently played as a mage/thief and mage/cleric.
Aerie
Anomen
Cernd
Edwin
Haer'Dalis
Jan
Keldorn
Mazzy
Nalia
Valygar
Was thinking of maybe Anomen (failing his test), Edwin, Haer'Dalis, Jan, Minsc (though I have used him many times) and a chaotic neutral PC for a party of nutjobs haha.
Thanks!
Party help
of that list:
keldorn
aerie
anomen (pass test)
nalia until imoen, or jan
that can form the backbone of a really solid (good) group:
2 tanks ano & keldorn
2 healers ano & aerie
2 mages nalia & aerie (jan)
--
mazzy / valygar can add more missle & melee support, valygar also has stealth and limited backstab.
tob -> endgame cernd is an interesting wildcard, not so much as a werewolf, but more as a pure druid caster.

with all the primary roles filled, you are free to choose whatever as your pc - a ftr thief combo probably complements the above best.

"all around you is tinder for the gods"
Of those in the list I'd go with
Aerie, Jan, Mazzy and Valygar but I'd also take Korgan for the interaction between him Mazzy and Valygar.
Mage double covered with Aerie and Jan, so not as powerful mage wise as Nalia or Edwin, but perfectly adequate
Cleric covered by Aerie, again not as powerful as Anomen but a lot less obnoxious, and becomes a killing machine eventually.
Thief covered by Jan
Tank covered by Korgan and Mazzy (you need to get to her ASAP to stop her wasting proficiency slots though, or use a mod or Shadowkeeper to fix that issue)
Valygar as noted by Koz-Ivan has limited stealth abilities, but equip him with a bow and give him Greater Death Blow and Greater Whirlwind and he's very useful, not a bad backup tank either
Which leaves your main character to be whatever you want her/him to be. Me I'd go with a half-elf Ranger/Cleric which is really a suped up Fighter/Druid if I'd recently played a mage type twice.

[QUOTE=Darth Gavinius;1096098]Distrbution of games, is becoming a little like Democracy (all about money and control) - in the end choice is an illusion and you have to choose your lesser evil.
