No More Attribute Points?

I became a Mage and leveled up from completing that quest, but upon leveling I didn't get any attribute points to spend. I am level 5 now and still haven't gotten an attribute point. I was wondering if this is normal or a rare bug I've encountered, and if it is normal, when will I get to spend my next attribute point?

You can only get attribute points from leveling up your highest class. This is to prevent the player from getting easy points by switching to a class he actually doesn't care about.

You should get attribute points once again when your Mage level becomes greater than your Fighter level.
