Noticed for the second time that my mainchar has lost spells which I am certain that I haven't used... This time it was a Wish spell and a Pierce Magic, both highlevel spells, so very annoying.
The only common link seems to be the Hive Mothers; I have fought two, and lost my spells twice. I loaded saves before and after encounters with Hive Mothers; I have the spells before, but not after... The strange thing here is that I haven't seen them summon any Nishrus or similar, so I am quite confused. Is this some attack or ability they have? As I'm approaching a place where I suspect I will run into Beholders, I'm keen on finding out if this is intended, or a bug. Either way, I'll be very careful around them from now on...
Finally, is there a page or such that has a list of all the creatures in BG2 and ToB? I wont be using it yet for fear of spoiling encounters, but it will be very valuable in future playthroughs...I'm talking about things like HP, saving throws, lists of their attacks, resistances, etc.
Hive Mothers eat spells?

Selinde Truesword- I am clearly deranged. Look who I travel with! Minsc, meet the Pirate Lord!
Minsc- Pirate Lord? Such a name does not conjure images of righteous behavior. Stand still a moment and let Boo have a look at you.
Desharik- Er, why is your friend pointing a hamster at me?

Shadowkeeper has a creature browser that lets you check out the monsters, it's what I used to answer your earlier questions about Beholders.
However it doesn't answer this question, according to SK they have no spells or innate abilities!!! Which means it's all done by script, which is bad news. I've never encountered this bug (if it is a bug) myself, or at least never noticed it.

[QUOTE=Darth Gavinius;1096098]Distrbution of games, is becoming a little like Democracy (all about money and control) - in the end choice is an illusion and you have to choose your lesser evil.

Every time the anti-magic ray is used - by a powerful beholder - you lose the highest level spell on that mage iirc.
Protect yourself with Spell Shield, it stops the anti-magic completely.

Ah, useful information, I didn't know that...or I'd obviously looked it up myself - doh. Thanks Galraen.

Aha...yes...that makes sense! Very annoying to lose spells. I suppose stuff like Spell Trap and Spell Turning also works, thanks.

Spell Trap can be removed by the ray, and spell turning works only for a brief time. Spell Shield stops the anti-magic indefinitely.
Spell Shield AND Spell Trap gives you endless possibilities.
