Swoop racing on Tatooine IMPOSSIBLE to win.

Post by Manzo »

So ok, I was naive with this and didn't think much about it at the time.
So time to be sorry now...

When I was still on Taris, I bloody managed to do SUCH GREAT lap time at my second attempt with Swoop Racings... Something like 24 seconds?!
I just let it happen cos I thought I was done with it, but...

...but, now I'm on Tatooine and just managed, after many attempts, to win for Nico's quests, as the time I'm supposed to win is way too short and it just won't happen, I actually managed to best the time for the first tier in a sort of miracle... It was kinda like 23,50?!

So, is there a way to complete the quest of Nico Swoop Racing?
Is there something somewhere I can twitch, editing files or savegames or the like?
I don't have the previous savegames of Taris anymore and I've played way too much for going back and doing it all again for the sake of the couple hundreds px lost in Nico's unbestable Swoop quest...

Help me :O

There's a cheat available here.

In case you or any one else is interested, a lot more mods for the game can be foujd here

I know this is kind of a dead topic, but…

This isn’t impossible… it’s not easy, but, it is possible…

I knew I've done this in the past, but, recently reloaded an old game just to try it again... it did take me many rounds to beat the times (it helps to do some practice runs inbetween races, and there cheaper) I probably spent couple hours, an 1000+ credits trying lol, but, the awards(racing bounds) for completing all 3 tiers are worth over 7000 credits... So, its not for nothing

And yes, you do have to win all three tiers, to complete the Nico's quest…
(as well as the title of sector campaign, the respect of the other races,....ect if you care about those kinda things)

bump

recently I play a new game on my 360 (instead of original Xbox) an it seemed as I was able to go through all three tier with little effort (beat each tier in one run) is this do to playing on 360?

is it cause the system is faster or something?
(has any one else played on 360 an noticed this, too)

The best way to win in the swoop races on Manaan and Tatooine is to delay the first two swoop races in the game on purpose. What I normally do is wait until the timer is at 5 or 6 seconds into the race before pressing the a button (or whatever you press to make the swoop go on the pc.) I aim for the launch pads that make the swoop bike go faster, but I also miss a few on purpose. Lazy swoop racing if you will. With this strategy, I have plenty of time to make it under the set time limit and be able to beat the Tatooine swoop track. Manaan is quite harder to do after Tatooine, but it is possible.

Also, it's worth it to save your game BEFORE you race. That way if you lose, just reload your game. Save the game if you win. That way you can lose the race tons of times without losing tons of credits.

The Tatooine race does not work like this. The other racers' times are set, no matter what time you get. I've seen the Twi'lek's time at 22:51 on multiple sites, which is what it is on mine, even after "lazy racing" through the first two Tatooine races (Taris is too far to go back, considering the many sites that confirm that hers is 22:51 no matter what).

I have been doing the third round of the Tatooine race for almost 3 hours now (with a quicksave game so I don't waste money). It's not happening. I can get in the 22:75-23:00 range fairly consistently, but 2:72 is the best I have ever gotten. I'm using maps that show exactly which boosters you should hit. There are only 3 or 4 boosters I'm not hitting on this track, and I'm not hitting any obstacles. I don't know what else to do.

The link someone posted for a mod doesn't work, and I have steam anyway. Does anyone know if the mods work with steam?

This is ridiculous. I'm a perfectionist and I like to completely finish my games. This is ridiculous. It stops being fun at some point, but I'm too stubborn to quit.

I'm playing it on PC, which seems to make a huge difference. Any advice, before I smash my keyboard?

Is your PC fast enough? If your framerate is too low, it might change a few tenth of seconds. Probably not the case, given the age of the game.
It is entirely possible to completely win the race without mods; I have done so myself. IIRC, boosts work best if used JUST on one of the boostpads.
