Fastest way to a lightsaber

Post by CorranHorn »

Hey y'all,
I'm probably one of the last people playing this game (I love it so much, I'm working on my third playthrough). Anyway, from reading other sites I had thought that the fastest way to put your lightsaber together would be to go to Dantooine first. It's not: The fastest way to gain your lightsaber is to go through Korriban first. Mainly because it's a really fast world, the enemies aren't too hard (even as a Sentinel with blasters), and while Sion got me down to low health, if you pause and use the shields and medpacs at your disposal regularly, you'll be fine. You'll pick up the 2nd lightsaber piece at the end of the Sith Academy, then the final piece back on the ship when you meet Visas. I had already found a color crystal by that point, so I was good to go! I hope that helps for anyone who is still playing.

The first time I ever played KOTORII I went to Dantooine first - it took me ages to get a light saber. The order I normally do the planets is Onderron (Duxn), Nar-Shadda, Onderron, Dantooine, Korriban. Normally can find a piece on Duxn then and go back to the ship to get the piece from Visas. A few crystals can normally be found on Duxn also. If you have a lightsaber by the time free Dhagon Ghent, he will either give you a random lightsaber (if you have already assembled one.) So by the end of Onderron (1), you can have up to two lightsabers and can have made huge advances in your relationship with Bao Dur.

Excellent advice, Gavinius

CorranHorn, you might want to reconsider doing Korriban first because it's the only planet where you won't receive Kreia's Mentor exp bonus. Best get it over with as early as possible, as it will come at a higher exp sacrifice later in the game.

For dark side, it's quicker on Nar Shaddaa, just go to the docks and kill Lootra I think it is and then get the piece from Visas. Dxun seems pretty quick to get one too, not too bad anyway.
I'm back with a vengeance!

I usually go to Dantooine first, there's the crystal cave, the enclave sublevels with a bunch of Jedi relics. I get the second lightsaber piece from Jorran after rescuing him, buy a bunch of robes and crystals off of Daraala, and then head back to the Ebon Hawk for the first time since leaving Telos to face off with Visas and get the last lightsaber piece from her lightsaber. Talk to Bao-Dur, and bada-bing! I have a new violet, double-bladed lightsaber. I've gotten silver, red, cyan, bronze, and viridian color crystals from Jorran on my many, many playthroughs.
