solo sorc and unseeing eye

I have some trouble with my solo sorc. I play with scs2 and without the sheild og balduran. My problem is a can't beat the unseeing eye. I have access to spells up to level 8. I get it to badly wounded with the rod and then it summon some beholders and the just kill me. Any suggestions?

for some strange reasons my spells in the spell trigger always seems to fail, anyone knows why? The minor spell trigger works fine

Wands are very helpful. A wand will fire before any spell can be cast. The Cloudkill wand functions exactly like the spell where the wand of fire or lightning are more modest in the damage they do. The wand of frost has the unfortunate side effect of sometimes crystalizing an opponent that us close to death and thus destroying items carried so I avoid using it when I think an opponent is carrying something I want. You could saturate an area will several cloudkills.

I think i will try with these. SCS beholders does give you some miscast chance so that could be the solution
