Two clerics?

Post by Aribeth »

I started game as cleric (again), and I used Tomi as my henchmen for most of chapter one. I recovered last reagent (nymphs hair) and I meeting Desther and Hemlites very soon. Problem is that Helms Hold is really difficult area and I want to use best henchmen for me and this area.

As a cleric, who has only few feats (greater spell penetration) I was thinking to use Linu as my henchmen, but should I choose somebody else?

As I can both fight and cast spells I don't need Boddyknock henchmen, but mine combat skills are very weak. Should I choose somebody who can both cast spells and fight (Linu or Sharwyn) or Grimgnaw? I don't mind creepiness of Grimgnaw.

Which henchmen to choose?

The barbarian or the crazy monk are the best melee. A lot of enemies are resistant to sneak damage, so Tomi is out. I think the monk is awesome, but the barb does humongous critical hits and high base damage.
Right Speech has four aspects: 1. Not lying, but speaking the truth, 2. Avoiding rude and coarse words, but using gentle speech beneficial to the listener, 3. Not slandering, but promoting friendliness and unity, 4. Avoiding frivolous speech, but saying only what is appropriate and beneficial.

Deelan Rad Tiger is ok. But Grimgnaw is the most useful for a Cleric because Grimgnaw has the greatest AC. He'll stand there and take a lot of blows while you cast the tide-turning spells. As with most games of this nature, the AI character will normally do everything except what you want them to do, hence choosing whichever one the takes longest to die and generally gives you the most breathing space is best if you prefer casting to crunching.
