ME 1 how equip weapons

Post by Claudius »

I'm on the first mission at Eden prime. I hit 'I' button and switch my gun to what looks like a pistol. Instead it is going to a sniper rifle. I can only guess that I am missing a 'confirm change' button??

If I read your message right, you're mixing up the inventory screen with the combat screen. The inventory ("I") only lets you decide which weapons you have on your person, not which weapon Shepherd's currently holding. The easiest way to cycle between weapons is to use these hotkeys:

F1: Pistol
F2: Shotgun
F3: Assault Rifle
F4: Sniper Rifle

Hope this helps.

Depending on how you have your controls setup there are a few methods for changing weapon. As mentioned you can use F1-F4, you can use the scroll wheel on your mouse or you can bring up the tactical HUD. Bringing up the HUD pauses the game and allows you to assign weapons and tactics to your companions.

THanks. How do you bring up the HUD?

I can't remember the default. I normally set it to spacebar, just check it under key mapping in the options.

I think (left) "Shift" is the default. Check the manual?
