Aerie dissapeared on me - HELP

i went to trademeet and decided to do the druids grove quest, i decided to exchance Aerie for Cernd (since i got rid of Jaheira for rep being to high for her likeing) i did the druid quest, i went back to the jail where Cernd was held, she is there but wont talk to me, tried many things, i finally reloaded game, and POOF she's gone, when the game loads, there is a little action that plays where she should be as she is protected by evil, but no Arie. i went to the circus and she is not there either. i think she is in the trademeet area but she wont show up anymore. i broke down and loaded SK and tried to spawn her in but that doesn't work either, she wont talk to me then attacks my party, or she turns into this monster looking character and only says "uncle quayle, your ok".
any ideas or is this just a stupid bug i can do nothing about???

Tried the copper cornet? I believe most characters go to the copper cornet when they leave the party. I'll test this in a moment report back with the results.

i checked the copper, she is not there, but yoshimo died before my eyes out of the blue, wierd, but when i load game, her protected from evil animation plays where she should be standing, but no Areie...... im beginning to think its a bug as i had some come to get Anomen for his nighthood for the second time too. sigh. if anyone has ideas let me know please

Just checked she should be on the spot where you dropped her, or the circus tent (depending on your dialog options). Not sure how you can get her back if she isn't there.

Yoshimo betrayed you to Irenicus. To insure he pulled through he got a geas spell. The moment you arrive in the copper cornet after you been to spellhold it kicks in and kills him.

Definitely check the circus tent. As I recall, her dialog earlier in the game indicates that if you let her go and need her again, she'll be back there.

This sounds as if she was holding the Staff of the Magi. Could this be?
If this is the case, try casting Dispel Magic where she ought to be. If that doesn't help you could try equipping the "SEEINVIS" ring via Shadowkeeper and see if you find her this way.

ok, i went to the circus tent, not ther, went to the copper cornet, not there either, i tried to dispel magic, tried the seeinvis ring via SK, still no aerie, and yes she does have the staff of the magi, her staff animation still plays every time in the jail cell where cernd was, i had told aerie to wait there for me as i only wanted cernd for druid quest. i feel my game has a bug, and no stupid me i dont have a saved game before this happened, unless i want to start back in chapter 2 again, and im already going to be starting chapter 7.
thank for the ideas
if anyone has anymore ideas to try, i would be more than happy to hear any of them, i kinda like Aerie and i made her into a pretty good mage.

Maybe just deleting the SotM with SK would help (and adding it again once Aerie is back in your party).

i removed the staff and she was there!!! thanks, it worked!! now i just have to fix my romance, lol

LOL, I've lost Edwin and Imoen that way too.

I never thought of Shadowkeeper though, I had Anomen cast Blade Barrier and when you hit them, they become visible for a moment.

Aerie's so fragile you might kill her though!

it might sound obvious - but wouldn't "true sight" show her? there is also that druid spell and glitterdust which might work. detect invisible too?

unless you equip her with the cloak of non-detection...

another ruse might have been to attack the area with an area-effect spell, she goes all red-circled then you charm her and leave whilst she is green. on return, she may no longer be hostile - not sure if that worked when I did it to a NPC. it may not have done, but something in my mind says that a trick like that did work in some way.

she goes back to the circus usually - and moans about re-joining when you ask her. she has a bit of a sulk.

I had to get rid of her because she and Jaheira were almost coming to blows over me and until I had Sir Anomen get Mr Clever Clogs, Mrs J was the best healer (and caster of insect plague!). I'm now so far down the romance route with J, that i'd feel a swine dumping her, even though Aerie would be good to have back in the party.

what level does Imoen reappear as?
(the PC is level 18 Paladin and may not have risen another level by the time Im is rescued)

Dissapearing NPC's

I had the same problem with Valygar. He was hiding in shadows with the cloak of non detection and dissapeared when he hit a trap and was turned to stone. Was Aerie wearing that cloak? If so I don't think True Sight or other similar spells would have worked.

How do you remove an item from the inventory of an inactive party member using shadow keeper? I have done the exact same thing - dismissed Aerie whilst she was equipped with the staff of magi. When I enter the tent she promptly turns invisble - see invisble and dispel magic spells dont work, i can attack her with area attack spells but cannot recruit her after she gets mad. If anyone can help i would appreciate it!!
