ME 1 how use special skills?

ME 1 how use special skills?

I have some active (not passive) skills but I do not know how to use them. I am on the first enemy on Eden Prime.
Right Speech has four aspects: 1. Not lying, but speaking the truth, 2. Avoiding rude and coarse words, but using gentle speech beneficial to the listener, 3. Not slandering, but promoting friendliness and unity, 4. Avoiding frivolous speech, but saying only what is appropriate and beneficial.

Easily done. Hit shift, which opens up the combat menu, and your usable skills pop up at the bottom of the screen. You can then click and drag them to the hotkeys on the top left, and then activate them just by hitting 1, 2, 3, etc.

Or you can use the combat menu like a momentary "old-school PAUSE", re-positionize your view and push the usable skill/power against the enemy.
