Local co-op games

Post by GawainBS »

I'm looking for some local co-op PC games to play with a friend. Genre doesn't matter.

Thanks in advance!

Two Worlds 2
Van Helsing
Torchlight 2
Right Speech has four aspects: 1. Not lying, but speaking the truth, 2. Avoiding rude and coarse words, but using gentle speech beneficial to the listener, 3. Not slandering, but promoting friendliness and unity, 4. Avoiding frivolous speech, but saying only what is appropriate and beneficial.

I meant local as in "same PC". None of those allow for that, I think.

So are you saying you play co-op with someone using only one computer? Never heard of that.

Yup. Like in the old Worms series. It's the same idea as on console, basicly.

I think that's a bit of a bygone era. Some of the Civilization games allow you to take turns though.

I think Whacky Wheels had split screen. Maybe it's on GOG, for easy obtaining. Another option would be old fighter games, like Mortal Kombat and Streetfighter, that simply don't require split screen. I recall a PC game like that with robots and such. No blood. Can't remember the title.

Any and all suggestions are good, though.

Just remembered the name of that other game, it's Rise of the Robots (title like that wouldn't fly nowadays :D ). It doesn't appear to be GOG though, but it seems to appear on abandonware sites.

Well if it's a kid you're babysitting, I don't think you can go wrong with Wacky Wheels. I'm pretty sure I thought it was awesome when I was 13.

It's not a kid, it's a friend of my age, but Wacky Wheels sounds quite right, though. ;)

While I haven't played any of the recent Heroes of Might and Magic games and don't know if they feature this game mod, the older games (namely Heroes of Might and Magic III) had a hot seat mode, which would allow you and up to seven friends take turns in playing the game on one computer.

Thanks, but that's a bit on the passive side. My co-player's main virtue is NOT patience. ;)
