Whats the best allrounder and question about game version(Fallout 2)

Post by Sloty1984 »

Speaking about Fallout 2

I have ordered the trilogy from amazon and am waiting for my shipment.

How can I find out which game version I got?

How would you build an allround character which can solve most problems in the game on himself?

Is the good or evil way the most fun/satisfying?

Which companions are the most fun to take with me?

Do you have any ideas on good mods for the game?

What are the best weapons for my companions?

Google "Nearly Ultimate Fallout 2 guide". It has everything you need to know about the game.

I'd get the Fallout 2 Restoration Project by killap: it's everything you'll need in one mod: restored gamecontent, bugfixes, high resolution and several improvements.

"And start from a clean install of Fallout 2."
Is written in the post from Killap.
Does that mean no patches at all?

Do you think it will work with german or european versions?

Just ask Killap, or open the readme.

Which trait would you suggest me to take instead of fast shot(1st would be gifted)?

Is a good or evil way more fun/satisfying?

Is INT 7 really enough if I also take gifted trait?

Fast Shot. What's wrong with it? Sniping relies on crits, and crits are too unreliable to base a character on. (Until you get the Sniper perk, WAY at the end, and then the extra shot you can sqeeuze out due to Fast Shot is worth more.) Apart from that, I'd guess Small Frame.
BTW, read the guide, it offers the same advice.

I literally can not play "Evil" in games, so I recommend a "Good" playthrough.

Thanks.
I finally got the game running with F2 restoration project.
But there are some strange colors on the screen. I am using windows 7.
What can I do to get rid of those colors?

You'll have to be more specific. FO2 works perfectly on Win7, as I'm running it here right now.
Consider signing up on the No Mutants Allowed fora: they know a lot more about Fallout, especially the technical side. (Killap himself resides there, for example.)

No clue. Ask at NMA, more technical knowledge there. Also Google. (It really works.)

Solved the problem, just turned language to english.

Which 3 companions should I get(playing mostly good aligned)?

Which skills beside small guns, lockpick and speech are important?

What ammunition does the car need for running?

For all that's good and holy, read the guide! Literally all of your questions have been answered there! It's the single most comprehensive source of Fallout 2 info right in front of your nose, and you want me to regurgitate everything on this board?

But I would also like to hear YOUR opinion...
I read all of this guide, but for example should I keep Sulik,Vic and Cassidy or should I change one of them for more XP?

No I meant if a NPC has some quest or something.
Right now I got Sulik, Vic and Cassidy.

Also what can I do so my companions dont die that often?

Companion quests: RTF Guide.

Just get them some armour, stimpacks, and change their settings to something more defensive. (And no, I'm not going to tell you how to do that. The game comes with a manual.)
