Question regarding HOW and TolM (spoiler alert)

If I beat Icewind Dale final boss, does that mean it will end the whole game including the expansion (HOW and TOLM)? (please do not mention name of the boss, or any significant event as I still haven't beat the game).

I also read somewhere that someone will ask us to depart to the Sea of moving Ice(?), and we have to refuse it in order to go back to Kuldahar. What if we accept? Does that mean we will never meet boss from IWD but new boss from the expansion? (i obviously don't want this as I want to face all the final boss from IWD and expansion)

I aquired 6 badges from IWD and wondering what to do at the moment.

Beating IWD's boss means that the game ends. You should do HoW, TotLM while in HoW, then finish HoW, then continue with IWD.

should I install TOLM after i beat HOW? or does it even matter? ( I don't want things to get intertwined while I am doing the HOW)

Install it right away, it won't interfere.
