Fire spout lever jump

Post by Claudius »

Fire Spout Section

You'll find yourself at the eastern end of a long corridor. Your objective here is to get to the western end. However, unlike some similarly-themed puzzles in the Shadow Ruins, this one is pretty easy. Simply press the SHIFT key at the templar knight statues (#1) to briefly raise the platforms (#3) to shorten the gaps so you can jump to the west. Complicating matters slightly is that fire spouts line the walls and spew out fire every few seconds, but the fire spouts do little damage, and they're mostly there to distract you rather than hurt you.

From the walkthrough discussing the final part of the shadow realm ^^^

I click E and also alternatively shift to activate these statues which are triggers for theplatforms, but it never works :(

Shift was the action key pre-MMXII; E is the right key for you.

The game doesn't give much of an indication that activating the statues worked. Have you actually walked over to check on the platforms?

Two things. I suspect that you have to be scooched over towards one side of the statue. There is a knight painted on one side and a minotaur painted on the other.

The second thing is that when I thought I had figured it out it would only work on the first platform. I was banging my head against the wall untill I realized that the two statues in the opening area were not controlling two platforms. Instead there was a knight statue in a recess after the first platform. So I was getting over the first and reloading a million times trying to get the second platform. Eventually, eureka, I noticed the knight in the recess.

Thanks for your help swcarter.
