I started a new game after installing the 8.8 plus patch, and when first exiting the apartment in Santa Monica, the cutscene with Mercurio crawling inside of his apartment building has Jeanette Voerman standing over him sobbing. Then when the cutscene ends, she disappears. Is this supposed to happen?

I think it happens with the plus patch.
It happened also in my game, so I think, it should work like that ;)
Well Wesp, thank you for the great patch. I must admit that I've never played an install of Bloodlines so stable ;) . I've never had a single crash.

1- Thanks for the info about the switch in the library,it would be cool if you could add any tip about the where to find the switch.

2- In the end, it was a good playthrough. I enjoyed the sabbat ending, but it felt a little "empty" compared to the others, especially with the cab driver. I don't know how to describe it, but even if the main character had great answers to the new added dialogues, it didn't feel completely "vanilla" stuff.
Do you have any idea to "revamp" it more? Or will it stay like that ?
Anywaym I Liked the remark about the tzimisce being little talkative.

3- Another thing that cuts way too much is the fact that you can't take another route after you left alone the tzimisce. I feel like the choice should be still in the end.

4- could you post the dialogue in the library with the boss?

5- One thing that felt weird (much as Jeanette crying over Mercurio, but hey, oh well, it can stay, I guess) was the appeareance of the library boss inside the building that has a garden where you find the murderer that is butchering the killers of his family.

6- I realized that the ending speech for Andrei is really similar to the phone call he has with Deb. Oh well... I guess you used it because not many people are able to listen to it ?

Edit:

- great new place for the ultimate blade in the tzimisce lair.

-- What about adding a little more xp for forging the alliance with the tzimisce? I tried right now to take another "route" and I got 6 xp for discovering his lair + 5 for killing him. So I guess you should get 11 ?

Indeed, the crying Jeanette is a recent restoration of the plus patch because there was an unused event called jenny_cries on the map and we figured it could only be Jeanette and the reason could only be Mercurio.
1- Thanks for the info about the switch in the library,it would be cool if you could add any tip about the where to find the switch.
Isn't the texture besides the trap door hint enough? There is also a complete walkthrough included with the patch...

The problem is that both Andrei and the cabbie don't have any more lines that we could use. But in the next patch version another new level will be added to flesh out the decision situation some more!
3- Another thing that cuts way too much is the fact that you can't take another route after you left alone the tzimisce.
This is done on purpose. If you choose Ming, you don't have to fight through her temple. We wanted to do the same with Andrei, but as the Hallowbrook hotel is before the endgame this was the only way!
4- could you post the dialogue in the library with the boss?
You mean his long monologue? Here it is: "Ah. It seems that these final nights have brought us together once again. I see you have begun to embrace the beast within you. I smell the sweetest blood of my brethren upon your very hands. But enough with the pleasantries. Witness the power of my flesh, transformed into the vessel of your destruction. Farewell young cainite."
5- One thing that felt weird (much as Jeanette crying over Mercurio, but hey, oh well, it can stay, I guess) was the appeareance of the library boss inside the building that has a garden where you find the murderer that is butchering the killers of his family.
His appearance there has several reasons: 1) In his monologue he says that he has met the player before, so this must have happened somewhere. 2) There was an disabled vampire character hidden on the junkyard map. 3) We figured that the Sabbat would very well try to enlist someone like the Serial Killer, but then the LaSombar wouldn't want to fight the right hand of the prince over it right there and then.
A tip: please add more xp for forging the alliance with the tzimisce.
Good point! I forgot to give the XP for finding his lair. I will give you one point less than when fighting him in the next patch. After all, you miss out on every experience in the Hallowbrook Hotel!

Thank you.
Questions:

1- what are the "restored" quests? ARe they available also in "non-plus" version?

2- without the plus patch, will I get the "nosferatu" quest if I'm not a nosferatu ?

3- Is there a way to remove the "protean" effects when morphing? It is cool the first time, less cooler the second, ugly the third, impossible to bear when you use it most of the times.

4- When you skip the intro, you can turn left and find Jack. He will give you three options:
- train you
- give you the basic
- tell him you don't need anything

I wonder if you could add the +2xp +items you find in the tutorial in the second option. After all, it has sense.

I don't get the story-reason why Jeanette would be crying over Mercurio. Care to explain this?

There is no real story-reason, but we thought it would be another chance to show off Jeanettes more emotional side compared to Therese. Also as Mercurio is the ghoul of the prince of LA and Theres interested in getting a prince herself some time I think they must have connection. But explain to me a better reason why a jenny_cries animation should get activated on loading the Santa Monica hub and I will consider changing it...

The big restored quest is the one playing out in the library. I contacted Brian Mitsoda about this and he told me everything he still remembered! There are also minor fetch quests to get some more posters from Gary. Of course they are not in the basic vesion because they were not in the original game.

No. It will be exactly like in the original game.

What do you mean, the red vision effect or the morhing animation itself? I think the first can be done but I don't know about the latter...

I actually did this a long ago but people argued that it shouldn't be work like this because you just wouldn't get the experience and items so this would be like cheating.

I'm inclined it's more of an archeological relic. It feels very awkward, without any serious storybased reason, as you yourself stated. In short: I feel that the added benefit of showing Jeanette's emotional side is eclipsed by the unnaturalness it brings. (I.e. Why would she be crying there? Why not helping him?)

I got another suggestion , in that case, if you can't add the +2 xp to the basic. I've taken a look to the camarilla edition tutorial if you tell Jack you need no help. Basically he leaves you alone and you do all the tutorial, really fast, without having to talk with Jack a single time beside the ending.
A really great option

2- Another thing: when I'm talking about the protean, I mean I want everything removed but the transformation for the level 5. I heard somewhere that if you remove the red screen, you have a map with no shadows. Is that true ? What can I do ?

Why would anyone do this? Either I do the tutorial completely with cool voice-overs and everything or I skip it completely...

Googling a bit for that topic it looks like this is true. In that case I don't know what else to do to remove the red vision, sorry.

So I wonder: sometimes I get stuck in the floor. If I point you the places when this happens, could you fix the problem ? ;)

I don't know. Only if you get stuck in some entities. But just go ahead and tell me where it happens!

Hold on , let me make a stamp and I will help you. It happened around 5 times to me, but I remember mostly 1-2 times where it was really a nuissance.

This is where you can get stuck. When you are doing the warehouse mission, there should be a thug right there facing the open. If you crouch and go near him, and you stealth kill him you can rest assured soon or later you will get stuck on the floor.

2) I've got another thing to ask. I feeded on Arthur, the guy which asks you to search for his bounty hunter. Now it seems like I can't talk with him anymore :( . I also went to downtown but killpatrick still stays catatonic in front of the fridge. IS there a way to fix this ?
Edit: find a way to fix the issue 2).
The key is using a power like dominate to make him awake from his dormant state.
So , I guess that if you ain't playing clan like ventrue\malkavian you are doomed. This is a bad bug. So I guess you should take a look at it. ;)

No entities around except for the floor itself, so I can't do anything about this...

...and sadly this is true here too. Sometimes you can wake them by attacking.

the attacking part is true, but if you drained him he will have almost no life so you risk much ;)

should have explained better.
The tutorial goes like that:

You ask help to Jack -- the game goes like a vanilla experience
you ask for basic - you can do the tutorial without jack and get the xp
you ask for nothing - jack leaves you and you can go right to the apartment

I still don't understand, when do you want to get the XP? When you just talk to Jack?

No, truth is that I'm not totally sure if it works as I'm explaining you. Okay, let's try again

You ask help to Jack --> vanilla tutorial experience
You ask Jack the basic --> he will just give you the basic info then let you go (like in the vanilla) or 2) in the final dialogue you can ask him for a snack and he will let you go do the tutorial all alone to get the equipment + 2 xp
You ask Jack to not help you --> you skip everything.

I hope I was clear

Ah, now I understand. But I think removing Jack from the tutorial would be a lot of work if not impossible...
