Just out of curiosity in cleaning up a problem left behind, there is a large Goblin nest tower in middle of an inlet near the Red Hammer teleport. I have killed my way through the inlets, wiping out all the ballistas and blue-electric generators, but I cannot kill the goblin-spewing tower.
Is there some good way to get it out of existence?
Maybe I could leave it alone, but I like to clean up obstacles, if I can. Call it being a neat freak.

So you can target it but not do damage? If Firebreath and Fire Spheres do not work (they should), try getting close to the nest and using Dragon Burst.
In the original release of Ego Draconis there was a barrier across that channel in the fjords, protecting most of the Red Hammer tribe area, including one of the nests (Fire Spheres could not hit it, but Dragon Burst would). Defeating the flying goblin Dolgan would drop the barrier, IIRC.
