Member rating?

What exactly do the icons under member rating mean? I looked in FAQ and it just said that members could rate one another, not what was shown when a member was rated. I see someone must have "rated" me because I now have a star there, but I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing

@Laurelei - you have 2 votes averaging 4 stars each - that is good! 5 stars are the highest rating - I posted a similar question on the BG2 forum a little while ago and Fable and Sabre helped me to understand...
