ranger problems at start of ToB

I just loaded up ToB last night, and when I start the game after importing my character from SoA, I can no longer use my stealth mode or cast spells. Just to be sure it wasn't due to any equipment I was carrying, I left all items on the ground--still didn't work. Lastly, I can't use 'boots of Elvenkind' anymore whereas before I could. Can anyone help me out? Thanks!

Your reputation may be too low, or you may have made some 'evil' choices in Hell.

You're right, I became "fallen." In "Hell" I chose to not sacrifice anything for a fellow NPC figuring I could just resurrect her later. Took me a while to figure out cuz my reputation was really hi. Thanks for the replies.
