Roleplaying In Atkathla
Seabass, Serevon, and the seriously susupicious character Rodlon have made it to the proclaimed destination. The house, or tower, stretches far over the city.... and seabass is wondering how in the hells he havent been able to see this building before. Its humoungus, and just beside an ordinary house in the slums. Were they the only once that could see it? It seemed as if that was the only explainable solution. Rodlon starts chanting a mysterious melody, and the door to this fortress opens a little more for each word that is uttered. After completion the door is standing wide open and the three enters the building without further small talk. There was powerful magics behind something like this, and Seabass was eager to know who was hiding behind it.
And so the three men enter the building.
- 10 minutes after entering -
"Serevon, do you know where we are? What happend when we walked through that door? wheres the contact?"
"Aye, it looks like we've been , how should I put it, screwed over. I cant remember a thing but entering the damn place. And now I can't see anything, you have a match?"
Seabass utters a few words and summons a torch of infinite fire.
"Here, now we can see, seems as we are trapped. What is this place? some sort of cell? where are the bars?"
"Calm down Seabass, I think I found something, I think its a .... a puzzle of some sort, might be a riddle, check this out"
Seabass walks over to the runes etched into the floor in ancient writing. The symbols seeming to glow slightly at the touch.
"Yes, its a puzzle, but who put it here, and whats the purpose of it?. But nonetheless, this is an empty room, its completion has to lead to us to somewhere else"
A low voice speaks inside of Sebass, deep into his brain.
"Yes, yes, solve the puzzle, meet the master, it's a test, prove you're worthy. I've herd much of you Seabass, you can become quite an ally, now show me your prowess, solve the riddle"
A riddle eh......

@Fallout: Magus doesn't know too much about Ubik (Ubik protects his hideout from scrying)
Magus addresses Fallout: I do not question your honor, Fallout. But people change over time, and Void felt this was reason enough to question your motives, as well as everyone else's. As for Weasel, I detected his presence in Amn, but could not locate him. When we arrive in Amn, I'll check my contacts. They should know what we're up against.
Magus turns to Aerie: Love, could you teleport our friends back to the Copper Coronet? You too, Void. I will follow momentarily.
Aerie: S-sure, Magus. I would be happy to.
Void's eyes flare in recognition: As you wish, master.
She beckons the four heroes over. Aegis begins to follow, but a glance from Magus stops him short. His eyes hold Aegis's gaze, and he knows Magus has something important to say to him.
Aerie and the other three vanish, and Void soon disappears as well. Aegis is left alone with Magus.
Magus: I think it's time that you know. You have incredible magic potential inside of you. Most people born with such potential harness it and become a mage. However, as you know, a tragic accident when you were young alienated you from the study of magic. Wild and unfocused, magical power becomes a curse, rather than a blessing. Eventually, without help, a person such as you will be driven completely mad. At the request of your Praelit, I have gradually taught you under charm to cope with your power. Also at his request, I have used a modified charm spell that leaves you without any conscious memory of the experience. Recently, the Praelit has become riddled with guilt about the matter, and I have taken it upon myself now to lift his burden. Like it or not, you have much untapped power, and you must release it occasionly lest it consume you. If you wish, you may study under me to tap this power, but you will have to leave the Order to do so. The study of magic is very demanding, and does not allow for distraction. The choice is yours. The Praelit is a wise man, and I'm sure he will encourage you no matter the path you take.
Magus pauses for a moment to let it all sink in.
Magus: Think on the matter. I don't need an immediate answer. Let's join the others, now.
Without another word, they both disappear, and reappear in the rowdy confines of the Copper Coronet.
A moment later, the aerial servant glides out of the mirror into the empty laboratory. Seeing that Magus had already departed, it sighes like the whistling of wind, and exits to occupy itself until Magus's return.
@Trip-Wire, Fallout, and Rail: You can mill around the Copper Coronet for a while before Magus and Aegis appear.
@Melosh-tar: Quayle is also at the Copper Coronet. I'll leave it to you to either inititate something with Aerie or Magus.
@Aegis: Does this sound alright? Leave some time for the others characters to wander the Copper Coronet before you appear with Magus, if you have something to say there.

Lost Souls: A bereft lover. A masterless familiar. Friends gone their separate ways. Time marches on, and destiny heralds the meeting of comrades old and new. Can they find what they're seeking? Or will the search bring them only more pain?
@Melosh-tar: Well, this is how I took the vampire bite...You will eventually turn into a vampire if you don't get help. I could be wrong, maybe special rituals have to be performed as well. Do you know Drakron? Anyway, if you are turning into a vampire, I'm thinking you need to be cured by a powerful priest (You don't need to do all that stuff like when Bodhi turns your girlfriend into a vampire because you're not a vampire yet). If Aerie can't heal you (your decision), then Magus will know someone who can. Is that enough for you to go on?
Edit: I imagine a vampire bite would be different from their normal level-draining attack. It's much harder to bite someone on the neck then to gouge him with your nails (I think that's how they attack). It would have to catch its target by surprise (like it did with you), or immobilize him.

I could come in now as a neutral party ebcause I don't want any of you to become too powerfull (which will obviously happen if either side loses) but I think it's hard enough to follow the story already so I'll not make it even more difficult with endless stories from me. But if anybody feels the need of 'using' my character feel free just don't use me for any of your sick and twisted sex-games...
Goodies are really on a roll. They have me confused as well, perhaps that's part of their strategy.

Hmm actually I don't really have a problem with the sick and twisted games as long as it stays a joke, but everybody here takes everything I say a 100% seriously (see what happened with the little ittibitty dreams comment... sigh )
If I wanted to step in seriously now that would mean that I'd have to read everything again... Cause I'm sure I missed a few events... that would take up a lot of time. The primary reason I'm not joining is that if I start writing here I'd fail at school again this year, I'm addicted to writing.
But if you're trying to hack ubik's feet from under him and need a thief, make sure you call me.

@Waverly: Yes, my plan is working...soon you'll be so confused that you'll walk right into my ambush! Actually, I know that the thing with Aegis was kind of strange, but he requested a link to his past, and I gave him one. It doesn't affect the main plot whatsoever, so I figure it's harmless. The rest is just my standard fare...

It's really not all that confusing. You just need to read all nine pages twice, and it's as clear as day!
Rail mulled over a mug of dark ale in a corner of the corner of the Copper Coronet main hall, glad to be rid of the hakeashar. While the beast made him feel more than uncomfortable, he did enjoy irking the thing just a little. While he had no thoughts of treachery, yet, or the beast certainly would have pointed them out, he certainly didn't trust the mage or his pet.
After checking the other patrons of the establishment for potential enemies, he turned to Fallout. "You were asking about the one known as Weasel?" It was more of a statement than a question. "Aptly named. I followed him to the sphere here in the slums, where he simply dissappeared. Don't think it was his intention, though." He took another gulp of the ale and continued. "He was following two others there. Real charmers, those two!"
Fallout looked at the assassin suspicously. He hadn't gotten to where he was today by trusting city dwellers too readily. "You know this man?"
"We've met, once or twice," Rail commented, still glancing around the room casually. "I just wondered who it was that was so important he would be tailing so carefull."
Apparently satisfied, Fallout kicked his feet up on the table, and leaned his chair back against the barroom wall. Rail noticed he kept his axe handle at his hip at all times, appearing loose and relaxed, but constantly alert. Rail nodded to himself in approval.
TripWire sat up straight and turned his attention from the barmaid to the door. "Here come Magus and the paladin."

Waverly could stand the smell in the sacked sphere no longer. Evil doers are such slobs. Weasels' constant clamoring gave him a splitting headache and it was all he could do to keep from disintegrating the likely traitor. Gruntboy had once again fallen asleep. Waverly placed his wrist in a bowl of warm water and tied his bootlaces together before packing up his belongings and making ready to head out. He placed a small note in GB's hand that read, in two languages, (hopefully he could understand at least one) "Will return, say nothing of the page."
Waverly set his familiar down on a nearby table and gave the small dragon instructions: "I must attend to an errand. You are to listen to anything Ubik would say to me; and if he has information or instructions, fly to me immediately. You will know how to find me." The dragon hissed steam, and flexed his small but powerful wings in response.
Waverly left via the sewers and headed with purpose to the city gates. He decided to change his appearance after that bit of thievery the day prior and set about looking for a drab cloak. The shops all closed and the merchants gone, Waverly's foul mood got the better of him. He vaporized a peasant with a shaft of lightning and put the peasants burlap cloak on over his own shimmering affair; pulling the hood up over his head. He charmed a horse tied to a local merchants cart and mounted the beast, heading out of the city gates and into the night. His intent was to find a certain rare book dealer with much arcane knowledge in Trademeet. He would ride the horse to exhaustion and steal another for the return, making the journey as quickly as possible.

Magus and Aegis enter the Copper Coronet. Magus walks calmly and confidently, but Aegis seems unsettled and deep in thought. They spot the others, and join them at the table. Two red eyes stare out from a shadow, showing that Void is indeed present. Somehow he doesn't seem the invincible figure he was in The Rift, but his power is still formidable, nonetheless. Aerie sits near Void, taking comfort in his familiar presence in a room of strangers. Magus sits down next to Aerie, and Aegis beside him.
Magus: Our first task here is to gather information on our enemies. We need to find out how close Ubik is to finding the artifact, where he resides, and the identities of those that have joined him. Our first stop will be Shadow Thief headquarters. Aran has agreed to aid me in this matter. Even though I have a distaste for his operations, he keeps thievery under control, so I can tolerate such as he. He has a large stake in the well being of Athlatka, and he of all people does not want Ubik upsetting the current political balance. He was the one that informed me of Ubik's activities here. (Magus rises) So, if there's no objections, shall we be on our way?
@Melosh-tar: It's now or never. Make your move before the party leaves. Feel free to use Aerie to help cure you. If needed, she can stay behind while we visit Aran.

An unseen shadow pauses as Waverly blasts the peasant. She silently observes as Waverly dons the charred cloak, and follows him as he steals the horse. The thief notes Waverly's heading as he exits the city gates, waiting for Waverly to get a decent head-start. She steals a steed for herself, then sets off after Waverly. A decent tracker, she soon finds the unwary Waverly's trail, and is hot in pursuit.

A dark figure in the Copper Coronet looks up at Magus's entry. He watches as Magus, accompanied by a troubled-looking cavalier, joins those already gathered at the mismatched table of adventurers. He quietly slips out of the tavern, and moves swiftly and silently towards the Docks to report to his superior.
