What do you think???
very handy... there's so many nasties with high MR and there's bound to be even more in ToB. What I'd like to see would be the return of mindblank (8th lvl mage spell in IWD) - it works like chaotic commands but it lasts ALL DAY (bliss).

I totally agree with Edwin on the skull-trap + sunfire for solo. Just add some strong summon (like animate dead, summon earth elemntal or mordenkainen sword) against magic-resistant opponents.

I think the best spell would be Time Stop or Mordenkain's Sword (or both) Image Image Image Image

You guys all prefer the high-level spells. They're all powerful, but I don't get them until late in the game, and some I can't at all (I'm sorcerer)

That's true remember that we have Chromatic Orb Image Image

A good method to cause death to one enemy would be to cast Time Stop then while your still in the duration of the spell you cast lower resistence (the amount of times you cast it depends on the amount of resistence you take away) then Finger of Death. The enemy you did this to should be dead. Image Image Image

Favorite spells huh? Image I really like those lower level spells, it gets the job done too!

Magic Missiles - gets even better when ur a high level
Melf's Acid Arrows - great for trolls and for disrupting spellcasting! Image
Fireball - great for killing annoying bands of goblins Image
Stoneskin - don't leave home without it! Image

I think that Edwin has a good point, our spell picks will probably be different for solo or a party. In that case my favorite spells overall are Abi-Dalzim and Stoneskin. Useful for solo and party. Problem is that Abi-Dalzim at least is to high a level spell and you get it late so actually for a solo mage in the beginning, I like a web and spider spawn combonation. Very nice for killing the early enemies. With a party I like Melf's Acid Arrow early on. Also, for a single classed mage, Melf's Minute Meteors is always useful.

Melf's Acid Arrow is very useful....if you store two of them with a sequencer and hit a mage, you've half the job done (for the spll disruption and the damage). For the spell disruption they're also useful vs djinni.....

One of the best spells was Dimension Door from BG I, but the knucklehead programers took it out for some unfathomable reason. I love those instant death spells, and also anything that turns the victim to stone.

Dimension Door? It's in there, it teleports you anywhere within your own LOS, there're just no scrolls (can't get it with a Sorc. either) for it.

That seems to point up a significant difference between Europeans and Americans. A European says: "I can't understand this, what's wrong with me?" An American says: "I can't understand this, what's wrong with him?"

I reckon that Stonehege was build by the contemporary equivalent of Microsoft, whereas Avebury was definitely an Apple circle.

Dimension Door is no longer in the game, unless you use Shadowkeeper to acquire it. Hence the reason it is not available to sorcerors. It's a shame... It would have been put to great use by my Assassin/Mage.

Why? What's so good with it? And what's the casting time?

Never used dimension door in BGI. Isn't invisibility almost the same????? I mean, when invisible, you can walk to another point of the area......Moreover invisibility is of a lower lvl...

If I ever try and using Dimension Door it stops my game Image, and the only time I use Shadow Keeper is when I'm curious about somethings.

Wail of the Banshee sucks ya sure the description makes it sound good but it isn't Image I think it should at most be a level 8 spell (maybe even level 7) not a level 9 spell Image Image
