I see them as Freudian slips that could have been. A whole new realm of study for Doc Waverly :D :D

You haven't visited Grunt's island have you? I haven't figured out if Vix says these things tongue in cheek because she knows that her words veil latent sexual references, or if she just happens to talk that way. I'll have to get her surgically enhanced form on the doctor's couch and analyze the trollop :D :D

ROTF :D You are worse than some of my stofile psychoanalytic university teachers!

You should open a private practise. I see it before me: "Are you stuck in the anal phase? Dr Waverly will help you out. " :D

@Waverly, you know that there may be no sexual innuendos there, at all; for as Freud once wrote, "A banana is sometimes just a banana." Of course, with a handle like Vixen, the idea of innuendo occurs right away. Human language is probably the second greatest sexual organ, right behind the mind.

In any case, I was a good friend to my lovers wherever possible even after we ceased loving; and now that I'm married, I still have no problem retaining friendships with women. The flirtation remains, but it's bordered by the love I share with my wife. Or, to put it in language I think you, Doc, would appreciate, the keys to my high sex drive are in good hands. ;)

@CE: I'm not even going to say what that post reveals about you :o Between you and grunt, I see the word anal entirely too much. :)

@fable: Flirting is natural and healthy... it has to be, for my own equanimity :D

I will reply by quoting the famous British psychiatrist Ronald Laing. (He who wrote "The divided self", apt literature for you and the doc, or should I say you and Waverly?)

Laing was asked in an interview: "Freud used the word "phallos" very often, and Klein used the word "breast" very often. What word do you use often?"
Laing replied: "The word that the patient uses most often."

LOL, CE :D
Nearly as clever to quote as to state the case in your own words :D

Now back to your pathology... your fascination with all things anal coupled with your penis envy makes you a strange case indeed. Cursing god for depriving you of a penis so you can penatrate a man, methinks :D Visit GB's web site, I think he has some strap on tools...

Gathering god candidates from GameBanshee for possible inclusion in the pantheon when Sumer returns to the world stage.

I saw a god in one of the threads around here :D :D

I ate a funky mushroom once, I am pretty sure I saw god. He told me to mow the lawn without my pants on... I demurred and he hasn't liked me since :D

LOL :D Your fantasies reveal a lot about you, Waverly...

But also a serious note: The hardcore orthodox Freudian psychoanalysis never got strong in the US, so you might not believe me, but there are still psychologists around in Sweden who could say something similar to what you wrote to a real patient.

@Weasel: Yes! you saw him too :D

@CE I am not up on the current thinking, but my perception is that Freud is more of an amusing punch line (penis envy, anal retentive, etc.) than a perveyor of fine tools with which to dissect the human mind.

Freud was a great mind *of his time*. He picked up ideas about unconscious levels of the human mind from current philosophy, and tried to fit them in to a general therory about the human mind. Since he lived in the Victorian age, he noticed that the heavy sexual opression of this era, was a problem for many individuals.

Today, his theories are totally outdated, but he provided many good descriptions psychological phenomena that had never before been studied. In Sweden, unfortunately, some psychologists/psychiatrist of the older school, still believes his therories in an orthodox, fundamental way. Personally, I view it more as history and as a subject for jokes about the human nature. Did you know Freud has written a book called "Sex as a sublimination for tennis"? :D

I have heard a plausible theory that Freud spent a great deal of time studying abnormal minds, he would then make the mistake of applying whatever seemed to drive these individuals to normal healthy minds.

I should be going. Have a goodnight (or is it tomorrow for you CE) guys.
