is there anyway to tell what time of day it is? (like morning, afternoon)

There is a "clock" showing sun, moon etc. in the bottom left corner of the screen.

I believe you can hold the curser over that too and it will give you the time.Greetings from The Weasel!

although you can reduce (or increase) that delay in the game options.
