Need Help Figuring out best weapon skill

Post by Xo Martel »

Hi,

I've been playing BG2 for couple weeks. i played BG before but forgot most about it.

I started as Fighter/Thief. I chose my skill on 2xBastard Sword, 2x Scimitar/wakisa... and 2x2weaponswing and 1xsingleweapon.

now... the problem.
Since i didn't know much about BG2 equipments that's why i chose that way.
Currently i'm at asylum dungeon and been regreting that i spend those points on bastard sword and scimmy.
I have few good weapons that i have in mind, but not sure which one to go.
i have great flail/morningstar, good maces, some good longswords and celestial fury.

my team is/was Keldorn,Minsc,Jahiera,Aerie,Yoshimo/Imoen, myself (fighter/thief)

Keldorn using Carsomyr +5
Minsc using Lilarcor or FoA+Wyvern Tail +2
Jahiera using +2 sling
Aerie using +2 sling
Yoshimo using Celestial Fury (but since he's traitor, the weapon is free)
Imoen using dagger +3/Cleric Staff +3

considering i might be doing crom faeyr... what would you suggest?
where should i put my future skill point at? longsword? mace? flail? warhammer?

with keldorn in my team, he's not the true tank. minsc now become back up...
my character become nothing (hardly can hit) more than loot picker.

Should i restart the game? or should i try to finish it and import my equipments for new character?

Any futher tips welcome and thank you very much for reading and replying Image

You can restart your game. This time,I'd suggest putting proficiency points on Flails/Morningstars,Warhammers and dual-wield.Alternatively,you can spend the points on (dare I say it) Long Swords, only because they are the most common weapon available in BG2

Kensai is an interesting class, and if you put points into long sword and dual wield, there are plenty of excellent weapons.

The only other category I would add to Brink's is two-handed swords. Plenty of excelent weapons to choose from. Image
