Wow. Lots of "crap" going on here. The Bible is "crap". Worship is "crap". What I'd like to know is, how can people post something like "Religion is crap. No offense to religious people." And these are the same people who claim that religion itself is illogical

Also: Don't you realize that in defining the beliefs of others as "crap", you are doing exactly the same thing that you accuse organized religion (especially Christianity) of doing? Namely, being bigoted and intolerant?

You have just been CORRECTED! LONER IS THE LAW!!!

Loner has a point, to denounce someone elses beliefs with no actual solid reasons does seem illogical and bigoted.

@Loner, I suspect some people are simply reacting to having been told (especially if they live in the US) that Christianity is automatically patriotic, pro-life, pro-Republican Party, anti-taxes, anti-foreign policy, belongs everywhere, biblically literalist, etc.

There is something about the extremely conservative but powerful Christian religious fringe in the US that sets my scalp crawling, frankly. I have a distinct feeling that if any of these so-called Christians had been there when Abraham was about to sacrifice his first-born, they would have been shouting through megaphones to go ahead with the deed and forget the interfering metaphysical aberration that was trying to stop it. ;)

Then it won't get soo dirty. :D :D ) I have a distinct feeling that if any of these so-called Christians had been there when Abraham was about to sacrifice his first-born, (But, Abraham didn't kill his first born, did he? His son also went along with him, he could of just said "forget you old man. I'm going to knock me up some Cannanite women.") they would have been shouting through megaphones to go ahead with the deed and forget the interfering metaphysical aberration that was trying to stop it.

I look at it this way, what the frig are you arguing about? Who cares what religon we are. Just as we can be friends, and don't push your views.

Now have a Guinness.

Sometimes, I wish I didn't have to. But I don't have that choice. Matthew 28:18-20 commands that I must "push" my view on others in the hope that some will listen.

But @Eminem, nobody says you have to follow Matthew 28:18-20. Besides, there's the matter of commonsense: a person who pushes it all the time isn't a propagandist for The Cause (any Cause) but just a bloody bore. You can always turn off the paladin light, and just have fun. :) ;)

I don't think "pushing" beliefs will further any cause, therefore i don't. Telling others who wish to listen is one thing, forcing it on those who have no desire to hear is another.

I am an atheist, but not for stupid reasons like alot of people.

I won't go into it now, but I worked my ass off this year in philosophy class (being one of two atheists in a 13 person class) working 'proofs' for my belief. I say 'proofs' in quotes because there is no proof one way or the other. On the exam for that chapter, I worked forever. The day we're getting it back I'm worried as hell, because even though my teacher is open minded, he is religious. He hands it back to me: 100%. "That's the best essay I've ever read on this issue." So, needless to say, In my heart I have proven my religion to myself.

I'll end with approximately how my essay ended:

In the end, it all comes down to a matter of sense. To some people, denying god would make no sense whatsoever. To me, believing something exists when I see no evidence towards it makes my scientific mind cringe. For all people, it should just come down to what makes sense to them.

Atheist.
God(or anything "greater" than mankind...satanism is on the rise in Germany...)is for people who can't accept reality...(IMHO, of course...)
