If I was going tom choose between beeing a monster from the AD&D worlds, I would choose beeing a dragon! Imagine the power!!
But, I wouldn't be the powerless from BG2, no... I would have been a REAL dragon, who could destroy every ******* enemy that I had, INCLUDING the child of bhaal...

This is nice. What is considered a monster? Is the half-orc a monster? Think I would be a little squirrel specialized in hiding in shadows. Then I would run up on the big monsters heads and whisper in their ears until they got mad. Noone would be able to resist me!

well not a fire elemental for sure they are always gone when you wake up so that wouldn't be pleasent.you go to sleep and the next morning you are just not there!?!
perhaps a rat or a koblot
This weeks health tips:
Don't eat sharp objects it can be the cause of 7 out of 10 bad stomages.
(they were in the first fiend folio, never saw them again)
anyhow they were backwards goblins, every time they took damage it actually added to their hit points, to kill them you had to cast healing spells, potions of healing could burn them like acid.
I'd have to say a kobold archer or a 5000 year-old demi-lich sorceror bent on world domination and with an army of warped and twisted undead nubering well over the thousands. I'm not sure though, I'm leaning toward the archer in terms of sheer power.

The first? You mean there was more than one Fiend Folio? Oy, that was my favorite! I always thought the Githyanki were so cool. I would have to go with that.
you liked the fiend folio? if so you're the first person i've heard of admitting to it...
some of the monsters were interesting, death knight & the gyth, if i remeber correctly were really the only "good" ones.
i thought a revamped "fiend folio" was released for 2nd ed. (i may very well be wrong i haven't bought a d&d book since i started playing white wolf games about 5 yrs ago)
