I would suggest that you organize LAN multiplayer sessions. The hardware is cheap, an ethernet hub, cable and network card. This is what I'm doing, once or twice a week I take my box and monitor around to a mates place and play BG2 for 4/5 hours. BG2 is such a big game that I think you're going to have difficulties playing it on the net.
