*Gwalchmai's vision is still a little blurry* "Note to self: Never put the Cloak of Disruption on inside-out again." His vision clears a little, and he realizes that he thought he was following two Ladies of the Harem, but alas, there is only one. But that one is more than enough for him!
Good luck Lady Loner!
Good luck Lady Loner!
That there; exactly the kinda diversion we coulda used.
As the ladies ride off, the Oracle watches intently. He begins packing up belongings when another rider is heard outside his dwelling. In moments the Oracle is greeted by a Knight of the Gilded Rose. The knight bows and speaks to the sage, “I am troubled. This Anomen is indeed of fool, but I have seen no evidence of the evil deeds that have been reported. This doesn’t seem like a noble method of battling fellow knights; and that Waverly rogue makes me nervous.”
The Oracle smiled and spoke softly, “Waverly is the man for the job, just keep him well funded. As for the methods… remember it was you who sought my help. Was it not Vale, a member of your own order, that first brought you here? Here’s proof that the plan is working: a harlot has been pummeled by Anomen’s followers. Procure her testimony and that of witnesses to the act of cruelty. I have it on good authority that they are seeking to coerce other witness of misdeeds performed by Anomen. Follow them and you will find evidence of depravity. Now leave, and *never* return uninvited and unannounced.”
The Oracle waited several hours to be certain the area was clear of witnesses. He then finished packing, making sure nothing left behind would seem out of place in the possession of a hermit. With a smile, his form morphed from that of the old man into another younger form; he then changed into the black clothing of the mysterious rider who had left the note on the harem door. With his cloak hood tossed back, he whistled for his black mount, saying under his breath, “It feels good to be myself again,” and with that… Waverly galloped off.

@Viv: A couple of Waverly's mini-roach deamons ripped off my pants, splitting them in two. Probably a sign of some strange predilictions on Waverly's part... Lady Loner loaned me her cloak, which I put on backwards, and proceeded to stumble around the streets of Trademeet for most of the day. I'm back now, and will attend to Lady Loner and Lady Georgi at your behest. *Big Bear Hug* Be careful of Waverly.

Gwalchimai: ROFL! I read that, but apparently forgot.
Fare thee well Sir knight, and return my lady friends in safety and health.
*With a small tear, Viv waves her last known protector off, to aid those who may need it more. As his figure diminishes, she rifles through her pack, finding the boots of speed she had hidden and sets back towards the Copper Coronet, determined to do her duty.*
Darkpoet: *kiss back*
Brink: If you are still here, I hope you are doing well

Waverly -
Hours later, Georgi, Loner and Gwalchmai had reached the edges of the Forest of Tethyr.
Georgi slowed to a trot in order to speak to the others.
"How on earth are we supposed to find this Order? The Oracle wasn't so useful as to tell us where they are."
Loner sighed. "I don't know, but we should tread carefully. Gwalchmai, you know more of these parts than we... Do you know of anyone who might be able to help?"

*Vivien happily breaths in the loud ...yet stale air of the Copper Coronet, glad to be again inside the warmth of fire and people. She shivers slightly and puts her cloak away before heading towards the barkeep with a smile. A small drink will revive her spirit, and maybe then a determined plan to find that Waverly.*

Lady Georgi suddenly froze. "Did anyone else hear that?"
Lady Loner shook her head. "It's probably just the wind..."
"No, it sounds like..."
Gwalchmai swiftly loosed an arrow into the forest. An unmistakeable grunt followed.
"... Hobgoblins, " Georgi finished. "Come on, we don't have time for this." She spurred her horse onwards through the forest.

Gwalchmai thought (not too swift on the uptake, and trying to answer the question put to him two posts ago and ignoring the bellowing gang of hobgoblins despite the fact he just killed on with his bow), "Let's see... Forest of Tethyr.... Forest.... Southern realms... Order of the Guilded Rose... Rose... Flowers... (Darkpoet? no.) ..." "Um," he said out loud, "I seem to be drawing a blank.... WAIT!" Suddenly snapping his fingers so violently that his trusty mace slipped off his shoulder and dropped on his foot. "Ow! The druidical order of The Orchid! They have long-reaching ties throughout this land. I was a member for a short time. They are not far from here." Gwalchmai limped off to the southwest, one hand holding his mace, the other holding his pants up.

"I didn't know you were a druid, Gwalch... But yes, that seems a good idea."
As they galloped through the forest, Loner saw Georgi slump forward on her horse.
"Georgi?!"
Gwalchmai spurred his horse on, quickly making up the ground between himself and Georgi. As he drew closer, he could see the shaft of an arrow protruding from her back. Reaching over, he managed to grab the reins and slow her horse, which was careering wildly along.
As they stopped, Loner caught up, and gasped. "Was it the hobgoblins?"
Gwalchmai tenderly lifted his mistress down from her horse. "No... I've never seen hobgoblins with arrows of this kind... 'Tis a good thing the druid order is so close."
He lifted Lady Georgi's motionless body onto his horse, and agilely leapt back up. He and Loner continued onward.

*Vivien sat quietly, the usual bar hum lulling her slightly as she sipped her drink. She kept a trained eye on the door, watching for a certain trickster. Suddenly the door swung open, the wind from the outside rushing through to lift her hair, and Viv stood, eyes straining to see who was entering.*

Waverly strode into the Radiant Heart's atrium...only he didn't look quite like Waverly. The guard on duty recognized him immediately.
"Brother Enoch, you have been away too long!"
"I must be quick," Waverly/Enoch replied, removing his robe to reveal the Radiant Heart Emblem on his tunic. "A rival order is seeking to displace us... and they have turned Anomen! Do not question him yet, but follow him closely. Damn, I have taken too long with this task already, I must be off"
Waverly darted from the door and after a quick change of clothes headed straight for the CC. Walking in, he smiled broadly at Viv, and before sitting down with her, waved to DP.

Gwalchmai crashed through the forest, carrying his Lady Georgi, who was breathing shallowly. Finally, a large oak tree, festooned with vivid and delicate orchids came into view. “Conrad! Conrad! Get me Conrad!” he shouted to the slightly confused druids. Soon a robed figure came out from behind a bush, pulling up his trousers. “Ah Gwachmai, you have returned to us. Eh? What’s this? A fair damsel in distress? *Gasp!* A ‘Fearnog Arrow’! Quickly my brethren, we must perform the cleansing ritual!” The leader of the druids quickly began the rites of exorcism, which for some odd reason involved stripping Georgi to her undergarments and pouring tree sap on her.
Gwalchmai was impressed that Georgi had remembered to wear undergarments today.
“Is this serious?” Lady Loner asked.
“Yes, very,” Conrad replied, “The arrow represents a foul avatar of a small demon from the lower depths, anathema to all that is good and true. Fearnog especially dislikes orchids.”

*Vivien gulps a bit nervously, but them remembers that it's just Waverly. But, he has seemed somehow different lately...
After a quick drink from her glass, she decides to try her patented charm technique tm.*
"Waverly" She said smiling and leaning closer.
"We've missed you. Not that I was looking for you, oh no... But, umm... We wondered where you had gone. Where had you gone?"
*smiling up at Waverly, she hastily motions to the serving girl to bring a pitcher of ale.*

This is the first sentence I saw when opening this thread.Gwalchmai was impressed that Georgi had remembered to wear undergarments today.
I think I'll go meditate on it, awhile.

To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
