Numbers in your party

Post by Kieran_Frost »

How many people do you have in your party? I've started agin, strewed up game, ARRRRRR, and I am now a half-elf fighter/mage. On a different topic, Fighter/Mage = way cool. I can put ++ in quarter staff and gain better thaco and more hit points, yet can still be a great mage. BUT the down side is I go up levels slower due to multi-class, so I can't or shouldn't have six in my team any more. So I'm going to keep Minsc and Jaheira in my team. I want to have Aerie too and add only one new NPC at a time to do their quest and then ditch them, leaving Edwin to last, great mage. But how many should I have, will I reach top level by the end with six in my team.

You will reach 3million exp by end yes divided by 2 between the 2 classes. Multi class fighter/mage will get to 14/13 or something like that...no level 6, 7 or 8 spells...but the fighter part makes up for it.

you've got a fun character there. I played a Half-Elf F/Mg with prof. in Katanas and Dual wield... eventually, this made my guy pretty badass. You may want to have your 5th NPC be one of the Thieves (I like Jan) and rotate people through the 6th slot to get yr quests. There is, however, plenty of experience in the game to have every character in a 6 person party reach the Exp. cap, so yoou may want to experiment with different party formations and let yourself travel with 5 companions if you find a mix you enjoy...

A mage without Level 6 or 7 spells is going to make some of the fights very difficult. I like a 4 person party occasionally filling the 5th spot for an interesting quest.

My current primary character is a female, duel class thief/mage with Jahiera, Mazzy and Nalia tagging along. I plan to dump Nalia for Yoshi when I go to Spellhold and then pick up Imo. Not much romance happening with my all female party, still one can but hope.
