@SS - I better PM your bottle this time
@Georgi - I have joined moshes and slammers at...
Metallica
Slayer
Overkill
Candlesmass
Megadeth
Faith No More...to name a few
Being small I used to come out quite bruised - ahhh! Those were the days...
BTW - have any of you heard Metallica's version of 'Turn The Page' (orig Bob Seger?)
This track proves he can sing

I'm sure you could with enough people... Crowdsurfing would be a pain though, you'd keep hitting the walls...Originally posted by Fas:

@Ysh I have moshed at an Ash gig, and that was quite violent enough for my taste... But I think it was full of metallers... they were playing at Reading Festival at the same time as Travis, so guess which one all the metallers went to... It was fun, in a masochistic kind of way...

For Whom the Bell Tolls
Make his fight on the hill in the early day
Constant chill deep inside
Shouting gun, on they run through the endless grey
On the fight, for they are right, yes, by who's to say?
For a hill men would kill, why? They do not know
Suffered wounds test there their pride
Men of five, still alive through the raging glow
Gone insane from the pain that they surely know
For whom the bell tolls
Time marches on
For whom the bell tolls
Take a look to the sky just before you die
It is the last time you will
Blackened roar massive roar fills the crumbling sky
Shattered goal fills his soul with a ruthless cry
Stranger now, are his eyes, to this mystery
He hears the silence so loud
Crack of dawn, all is gone except the will to be
Now the will see what will be, blinded eyes to see
For whom the bell tolls
Time marches on
For whom the bell tolls
Did someone request this???
@Bloodstalker,
How's my Jameson???
@Ysh,
I finished my bass a long time ago but had to run some errands. For those of you with interest, I've returned with a soda fountain machine and a couple of tanks of Dr. Pepper syrup. Let the good times roll.

@Ned - exactly the song BTW your Bass went warm - I have pulled you another...
Re Clannad - yes. Famed for Harrys Game, but beautiful long before that
The original line up included Maire Brennan and Enya. A fall out resulted in Enya leaving and going solo...
I saw them at the Royal Albert Hall - a fantastic place to hear an accoustic band. Maire did one song in gaelic, unaccompanied, apparently about a mermaid. I did not understand a word but it made me cry

Here you go Georgi
Johnny B. Goode
Way down Louisiana close to New Orleans,
Way back up in the woods among the evergreens...
There stood a log cabin made of earth and wood,
Where lived a country boy name of Johnny B. Goode...
He never ever learned to read or write so well,
But he could play the guitar like ringing a bell.
Go Go
Go Johnny Go
Go Go
Johnny B. Goode
He use to carry his guitar in a gunny sack
And sit beneath the trees by the railroad track.
Oh, the engineers used to see him sitting in the shade,
Playing to the rhythm that the drivers made.
People passing by would stop and say
Oh my that little country boy could play
His mama told him someday he would be a man,
And he would be the leader of a big old band.
Many people coming from miles around
To hear him play his music when the sun go down
Maybe someday his name would be in lights
Saying Johnny B. Goode tonight.

Maybellene
Maybellene, why can't you be true?
Oh Maybellene, why can't you be true?
You've started back doing the things you used to do.
As I was motivatin' over the hill
I saw Maybellene in a coup de ville.
A Cadillac a-rollin' on the open road,
nothin' will outrun my V8 Ford.
The cadillac doin' 'bout ninety-five,
she's bumper to bumber rollin' side by side.
Maybellene, why can't you be true?
Oh Maybellene, why can't you be true?
You've started back doing the things you used to do.
Pink in the mirror on top of the hill,
it's just like swallowin' up a medicine pill.
First thing I saw that Cadillac grille
doin' a hundred and ten gallopin' over that hill.
Offhill curve, a downhill strecth,
me and that Cadillac neck by neck.
Maybellene, why can't you be true?
Oh Maybellene, why can't you be true?
You've started back doing the things you used to do.
The Cadillac pulled up ahead of the Ford,
the Ford got hot and wouldn't do no more.
It then got clody and it started to rain,
I tooted my horn for a passin' lead
the rain water blowin' all under my hood,
I knew that was doin' my motor good.
Maybellene, why can't you be true?
Oh Maybellene, why can't you be true?
You've started back doing the things you used to do.
The motor cooled down, the heat went down
and that's when I heard that highway sound.
The Cadillac a-sittin' like a ton of lead
a hundred and ten a half a mile ahead.
The Cadillac lookin' like it's sittin' still
and I caught Maybellene at the top of the hill.
Maybellene, why can't you be true?

I never thought I'd live to be a hundred
I never thought I'd get to do the things
That all those other sons do, and they do
I never thought I'd live to have my freedom
An age ago my maker was refusing me
The pleasure of the view
I never thought I'd live to be a million
I never thought I'd get to be the thing that
All his other children see, look at me
trivia question of sorts: Name the band and album??? (don't use the internet to find the answer)
