I am a Unix System Admin and I am at work right now. I gotta set up a few people with access to the webhosting devision of our datacenter but they cant wait :-)

Read this board as much as I can when I am at work. Hell, I get here at 7am and there is nothing much going on till about 11am, so for 4 hours I just browse the net.

Oh yeah, today is a special day as well, my boss is at home, so I am going to leave early as well, haha.

I am working on my thesis ( a research project in astronomy) and at the same time posting my daily drivel here. This is what I, a humble student, are doing currently:
1) I have 6 images (HST) of a region of a galaxy far away
2)analyzed them with standard software
3)going through the output and checking for abnormalities/errors: manually checking 1000(!!!!) sources
4)19 more regions to go and then the data reduction is complete
Luckily I am doing this research with two friends who are handling other parts of the investigation. Yes, our supervisor promised something big....

i am primarily self-employed as a graphic artist, and i also do a lot of German/English translations for client corporations. i'm in the US for about 3 months of the year and the rest of the time i am in Austria, where I also teach English at a business college. right now, i am on my 3 month vacation Image which generally means staying up all night painting or writing and when i can't think of what i want to paint/write or how to achieve it, i play a game. and when i can't think of how i want to play a game, i end up reading message boards. voila.

For some reason, and don't take offense to this, but I picture Chrissy as one of those really naughty school girls. You know, the kind that are really sexy, and that everyone wants, but can't have because of the naughtyness... Anyway, any flames will be expected, so let em zing.

By the way, I should be painting, but I'd rather be here.

I am a professor of history (American and European) at a small college in Oklahoma. I check in on this forum every day at school and every evening at home. I am supposed to be writing an assessment report on behalf of the college to a national accrediting agency but I really don't feel like it right now.

@Weasel- you are still the Master Manipulator in my book.

Work in management for an airline here in Anchorage, and post in the downtimes and on lunch. Occasionally at home, if my slow connection doesn't get the best of me.

Yeah I know.....I'm a bad example for the kids....cutting classes earlier just to satisfy my Gamebanshee needs. I daren't think about their futures...no wonder this country is starting to fall behind...

Seriously though things were a lot better back in the "old days" when I went to school(which was only 5 years ago since I am only 20). But now things have changed to the worse...and it doesn't look any brighter either...

Rat??? Me??? I'll take that as a compliment...
I used to have three rats as pets...(thinking fondly of those little furballs....eyes getting watery)...they were called Rocky, Ramboo and Rascal. Ramboo is the only one still alive...
I totally adore rats. They are curious and very intelligent little creatures....and they're really cute as well...they look just like squirrels, with a different tail of course.....
