I'm a fighter/mage, chaotic good with ++ in quarter staff, two handed sword and two handed weapons.
1) what weapons should I get? I'm thinking Staff of the Magi and the Carsoymer +5
2) should I romance Jaheira or Aerie. I've romanced Aerie before but she had few quests, un-like Jahiera but I've heard alot about bugs which scew up the romance.
3) which is better the Planar Sphere or the Fort. I want the robe of Apprenti but the fort has more quests not sure.

1. Cromsayr is a Paladin only sword.
2. Yes you can romance Aerie all the way. However there is a catch.
3. Get the planar sphere is a much cooler stronghold.

I'd still recommend dual wield + katanas, you can't use Carsomyr (Paladin only weapon)
Romance Jaheira. The complexity of the plot, combined with the development of her character make it the best romance in the game. I find her internal struggle very well written and enjoyable... just check in here if you hit any bugs, most are fixable, and remember - never let her die, get stoned, or otherwise leave the party.
A F/Mg can actually acquire both strongholds, or so I've heard - just tell Nalia you want to think it over and then do the Planar Sphere. Once you've got the Sphere, return to Nalia and accept.

2) use unofficial script patch allowing all romances
3) you may have both - see threads bellow

Don't dismiss two-handed sword just because you can't use Carsomyr. I'm thinking that Sword of Chaos-to-Lilarcor-to-Flame of the North-to-Warblade could get you through the game in whoopass style.
Jaheira's romance is SOOOOOO much more interesting than Aerie's...but the bugs are rampant. Basically, there are only two things that might cause you problems.
1) Don't let her get killed, petrified, or imprisoned. If you do (even in you resurrect, re-fleshify, or free her), the romance ends.
2) If you go a long time after the Xzar/Montaron quest without getting the bandit attack, use Shadowkeeper to add the line "JAHEIRABANDITPLOT=1" to the global variables, and go sleep somewhere outside. This will kick-start the rest of the Harper/Romance plots.
There are quite a few (to put it mildly) threads regarding the Jaheira romance. You can reference them to make sure you're on the right track.
the stronghold ****en sucks in the way that u always spend more and more money
for what gain?
to make ur ppl happy. yea thats it make ppl happy! and get sum experience.
i m talking about lots of money, and considering the magical items that u can get in planar sphere and the experience with it, i say go for planar sphere.
i agree with genesis about having 2 strongholds
=\
whats the point?

~Goddess Of Forests and all Rangers~
I am playing a fighter/ilisionist
my favorite weapons 2 longswords (daystar and an other longsword)
but as Sparrowhawk stated katanas are really good too. the only reason why I am not using them with my main charachter is that Haer'Delis is using the katanas.
Staff of the Magi is a good weapon too but I think you will do more damage with 2 handed fighting
maybe you can change your proficencies with shadowkeeper if you would like to change.
Thanks for all the replies, pity about the Carsoymr though, damn Paladins Grrrrr...... take the only plus 5 weapon why don't you. I've decided to take Aerie as a wife, since I'll get Jaheira's pin anyway, and Aerie is so damn cute, and sweet As for the strong holds, I'm afraid I'm a greedy man, so I'm going to take both, more experience that way
Thanks again

It wasn't that much money. Especially after I robbed Mae Var blind. I had 400K gold pieces. So I spent a few K keeping people happy. I'm Lawful Good, so I like that.
Casomyr is not the only +5 weapon; the Staff of the Magi is +5, so is the Crom Feayr, Sling of Everard (bonus merchant) and I think there are a few others as well.
