How does Korgan use his return throwing axe?
I have found the axe that can be used for melee or thrown and it will return to the characters hand and given it to Korgan. I have gone into the axe options and set it to throw. However he still walks right upto the enemy to fight, I used to have this trouble with the normal throwing axes so what am I doing wrong? I have noticed that his vision range is very small compared with other party members, is it just that he is so short sighted?
It sounds as though he has been blinded. It should normally wear off, but I have heard reports that in the original unpatched version of BG2 it had a problem of staying around.
I would suggest installing the patch (if you haven't already). Try going to a temple too and dispelling magic on him.
And just so your crystal clear, if you right click on the axe, it shows two pictures, one is mellee, one is ranged... do make sure it's definitely set to ranged! But I think you already know this

Cartoon Law III
Any body passing through solid matter will leave a perforation conforming to its perimeter. Also called the silhouette of passage, this phenomenon is the speciality of victims of directed-pressure explosions and of reckless cowards who are so eager to escape that they exit directly through the wall of a house, leaving a cookie-cutout-perfect hole. The threat of skunks or matrimony often catalyzes this reaction.
