Aegis, maybe Greek, or maybe once again, I am mistaken. I thought an aegis, was the head of Medusa, or other such emblems of fear often worn on armor or hung/posted at entrances. If not what is an Aegis?

According to my dictionary of mythology, an aegis is a goatskin cape, fringed with snakes, and often decorated with the Gorgon's head, worn by Athene. (Yes, Greek) :)

Aegis - Latin, derivitive from Aegeus. Meaning Sheild, or defensive structure.
