Lassal won't return to his coffin!

Post by Belar »

I defeated Lassal (as well as every other undead creature under the Graveyard District in Athkatla) but he didn't return to his coffin and so I can't stake him and make Bodhi appear. As a result I can't finish Chapter III. He didn't go to the spike room upstairs either. I fear I have a bug, and if so, how do I get around it?
All I ever wanted to be was a simple ranger.

Well, here I am again. I've found another reference to the same problem and it looks like I'm going to have to reload the whole game. That Lassal bastard sure *$##*@s things up doesn't he?

Balderdash, balderdash, rah rah rah!!!

I think both the old soa patch and new tob patch, I know the tob patch does, have fixes for this. You might have used azuredge on him or mace of disruption or managed to sunray the gaseous form. then he is really dead and cannot crawl back to his coffin.

Thanks for the tip. I did kill him with the Mace of Disruption, or rather, Minsc did. I guess I should download the patch so it doesn't happen next time I get there. Unfortunately, I started over and didn't save that game - well, I guess the patch probably wouldn't make him materialize in his coffin retroactively anyway. Oh well, at least this time through I managed to slay the Shadow Dragon, as opposed to sneaking past him.

Hmmm...why sneak past shadow? your typical black is rather a easy bugger to kill, reds are heard...due to your nastiest spells are firebased, so there goes inc cloud right there. blacks are vulnerable, and their breath wep suck...level drain is annoying, but not a party killer like fire. have a char with greater restoration, and you will be ok...with tob will restore whole party!
