I'll see your Commodoore 64 and raise you an Exide Sorceror - with the tape drive memory expansion!

I'm a bit of a pack rat but after spending some of my life living out of one small suitcase, I really recomend that you value and therefore keep such things as old love letters/kindergarten pictures (etc.) I was too ruthless once and have now swung the otherway. - Curdis

Oooh, I have one of those. I've got a nearly antique bb rifle. If I were to shoot you with it at point blank range, you might feel the bb hit you. :D

Hmmm, I slipped on something nasty and accidently fell into Grunt Boy's Boudoir yesterday. The words 'Pound' and variations on 'Spank' and 'Monkey' seemed to be the order of the day  . So while I can see why swinging the other way might result in such a comment, I was suggesting that keeping a few cherished things with you on your journey through life was better than keeping nothing or an awful lot.

Before she died, a woman from church gave me her clock radio with a built-in 8-track player.

A few years ago, we bought a '78 Airstream Travel Trailer. It had a built-in 8-track player. I uninstalled it, though. :D

Useless? All kinds of things :D Let's see... I keep all my old receipts, mostly in case I want to take stuff back, but I never get roudn to throwing them out... Old cinema tickets (I must have a record of every movie I've seen since I was about 15 I think), and tickets and programmes for shows I've seen... most correspondence... which did include email until my hard drive crashed in June and I lost it all, so I don't have as much as I would... Clothes that in all seriousness I will never wear, but just can't throw out... All my old exercise books, notes etc. from school, going back years and years... Books, but they are mostly not useless... I'm sure there is other random junk, like stuff people have given me that I don't use but can't throw out... Old diaries...

:o :D

Oh, and a bottle of Mars Bar vodka that some friends and I made at a party a couple of year ago... Am I ever going to drink it? Nope.... but it would be a waste of good alcohol to throw it out :D

Yes, I still have a few old games that probably wouldn't work on today's computers, some old newspapers, and college textbooks that I only crack open whenever C. Elegans asks me hard questions. I am a minor pack-rat. I've heard of people who are pathological pack-rats, that never throw anything out.

LOL, save your books! :D Yes, some people hoard things to a patholocial extent, usually it's either people with schizophrenia or people with obsessive-compulsive disorder. I once met a schizophrenic patient who hoarded all newspapers and phone books from the last 40 years or so - you could hardly get in and she barely had room for her bed.
by Snow:
Crap I used to keep is cars and parts, worst case was 13 cars on our property, of which only 2 were registed and only 4 ran. <snip>
Furniture is another bad case of useless items for me.

Cars and furniture? You must have a lot of space!

As for me, I seldom throw away books, but they are not really useless. I used to keep lava pieces and rocks I found beautiful and intriguing, but my ex-husband threw them all out.
Also, I can't throw away things people have made. With a grandfather who was an artist, a father who has furniture design as a hobby and several friends who are photographers and designers, it's getting sort of crowded here :D

Heehee. My car, an '84 Firebird, is a hatchback. In the back where the 'trunk' is, on the opposite side of where the spare tire is, there is this nice 'little' compartment. I have a large Folger's(sp?) Coffee can in their that is filled with rocks. :D I also have a medium-sized basket in my closet that is full of rocks. :D And, if you were to go through my boxes of stuff(some of which I've had for 17 years), you'll find plenty of rocks. :D I used to be really into Archeology, Paleontology, and Geology. :D

LoL, I still have two Sega Game Gears, neither of which work. I've also got my games for them. Only reason I don't have my Sega Genesis is because I sold it to get enough money to by an N64. :D

i have an 8-track player ;P and a camera that you can't get film for anymore...those are my 2 most useless iteams....lol

nothing is useless till you throw it away...even an old car collecting rust in your yard...if nothing else i'm sure it brings back sum kind of memory, hence not useless....plus your trash will always be sumone elses treasure ;)

I've got sum really old Death Metal music on vynal...i'm sure most of us will agree that its useless and god is it hard to listen to...but to sum these old bad albums are worth more than gold...just one example of many ;)
