What is this?

Post by Troll Slayer »

While in the tavern in Sagurdash in ToB I noticed the barkeep has some pretty powerful items. One of which confused me. It was a sword, what kind I cannot say. All it said in the discription is "Vigil Knight". I have a charisma of 19 and a reputation of 20 and it cost around 49,000 GP. I have no hacked wepaons in my override folder. Does anyone know what this sword is, and does?

Ah, the proof of a perfect CRPG: the endless quest for goodies... ;)
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Curious! the vigil stone is the item you need to break the wards to enter the final level of watchers keep. i wonder if this weapon does extra damage against this trapped evil? :)

Troll Slayer, haven't you got enough gold to buy the sword and subject it to closer inspection?

I was just there, swa no sword except yamato. alos shadow keeper does not see the sword, even as a quest item. We're talking about sradush, right? the big ugly barkeep abd the waitress being bothered by soldiers.

Is this a gag?

This is no gag. I'm dead serious. I do have enough gold to buy it. I will do that tonight and see what happens and report what I find tommorrow on the board. I can use my planer pocket ability to get there right? Even if I'm now towards the end of ToB?

no, saradush was destroyed. maybe you could find it amidst the rubble.
actually i never tried to go to saradush after it was leveled so maybe you can go back.
do you have a previous save from before it got flattened?

Nope, no previous save. Damm! Well I plan on starting a new game after I beat this one, when I get there the next time, I will be sure to buy it and give it a good look. I guess some things are just meant to be a mystery. One last thing, the picture next to the text made it look like the sword might have been some sort of Katana. I really do not think it is part of the game since no one else has seen this. Now all I want to know is how did it get into my game. I checked my override folder and saw nothing that stood out as strange. Oh well.

He is full of it if you ask me, there is no such sword. Somebody would have noticed it by now, don't you think?

OKay, I went and down loaded shadow keeper and took a look at all the items in the game. Sure enough I found the weapon. It is SW1H76. The name of the sword is Odren, which I believe, happens to be the name of one of the Vigil Knights related to Watcher's Keep. This doesn't make any sense. Could anyone else look using Shadow Keeper and tell me what SW1H76 shows up as in their game? Maybe I have a bug. The weapon itself didnt seem to do anything when I equipped it. This is no joke, I am not making this up. Thats why I believe it is a bug

Huh, well I guess that confirms I am the one with the problem. I did have some problems installing ToB. Anyway best to let this post fade away. I now know it is just my program that has the hiccup. Thanks
