Weapons for Minsc?

Post by roguekiller »

What weapons should he use?
We are what we repeatedly do, therefore excellence then is not an act but a habit.

pick a good long bow for projectile, mana bow is good, and lilacor for much of chapter 1-4, then he gets the silver sword after the underdark. Tob installed? no or yes?

Give him some profs in crossbow for the really cool firetooth.

he should alays have azureedge, without kevin patch use on golems, with patch use on undead.

he can eventually specialize in most of the weps classes, this gives him a great deal of flexability but not the killer grand mastery specialization that confirs the speed bonus and makes korgy and saverok pure killers.

Id have to say, minsc is just not as good as korgy or keldy. keldy has the same limitations in weps skills, but he has killer perks...

holy avenger and good special abilities. korgy is just a pure killer! with soul reaver he rocks! Saverok is not too shabby, and deathbringer assault is nasty.

your tank choices will determine your weps availability....

evil chars=soul reaver

keldy= holy avenger+ azuredge

minsc silver sword...which any fighter can use. sigh, you do not get a weapon perk with minsc, and its really the weps that turn a fighter into a pure killer.
They call me Darth...

Darth Gizka!

Muwahahahahhahahha!!!

the lilacor sword suits him great so why change because another sword is better? lilacor is +3 wich is really good and it has some bonuses as well wich makes it even greater, go with that for the whole game... i did

I think that, as a ranger, minsk should dual-wield.

I, for instance, like to give the guy a nice belm in the off-hand and Crom in the main hand. This way, you never should pick Greater WW, but always critical strike (and use some impr haste for 9 critical attacks/round)

Of course, there are MANY other dual-wielding combos, you can choose
Being an Evil Overlord seems to be a good career choice. It pays well, there are all sorts of perks and you can set your own hours. However every Evil Overlord I've read about in books or seen in movies invariably gets overthrown and destroyed in the end. I've noticed that no matter whether they are barbarian lords, deranged wizards, mad scientists or alien invaders, they always seem to make the same basic mistakes every single time. Therefore, if I ever happen to become an Evil Overlord, ...

I took advantage of his dual wield skills and gave him a Katana and Mace. I used Celestial Fury and the best mace on hand at the time. You could also have him use the Flail of Ages or a bastard sword. :D

I would specialize him in war hammers and axes... becuz by the end of TOB, he will be a killing machine... Crom Faeyr, Axe of the Unyeilding, and Montolio's Cloak... he gets +14 dmg, +7 Thac0, 10% chance of instakill, and with Greater WW, he gets 10 attacks (w/ each wep) per turn.. and is unstopable...

I am pissed though, i went though, and beat SoA this last time, and unfortunatly left teh faeyr scroll to rot on ground... 8(, so i started over... thats about 30 hours wasted, but axes, and war hammers for minsc

You sure that dual-wielding gets you 20(!) attacks with Greater Whirlwind?

When dual-weilding in GW, IIRC 9 attacks are with the main hand and 1 with the offhand.

Arm minsc with Flail of Ages and Crom Faeyr.

Early in the game I used Lilacor, and a long bow, and he did great damage.
You know, my last owner always said I was sharp and edgy. Heheh. He was such an ass.

well i had Minsc doing all sorts of things, from using Lilarcor and Bows, to duel-wielding maces.

I used the Maces nearer the end of the game where i had to fight lots of blasted Golems, like suldanesselar.

Minsc is actually an excellent all rounder with the weapon profiencies he has, i don't know why so many people complain about the profs he has.
